Personality:
As a teen Archer was a high spirited boy who loved making jokes and teasing his closest friends. He was a sweet kid who put others over himself in everything, he had a problem with saying no, which opened him up to people to use him, but at the time he didn't care, he just wanted to be liked, he didn't want people to leave. He had also had a real flirtatious personality. He has an anxious attachment issue with people which can get in the way of his friendships. As he got older he finally was able to stand his ground, he became more confined with himself and shy. He barely talked with people. He is soft and relaxed around people he is close with, but his walls are more up now and he rarely lets anyone close.
Background:
Archer grew up in the foster system after his parents had left and abandoned him at a park, although he never did stay in those homes, he had always ended up running away or the parents wouldn't be interested in adopting him and he'd move on to the next home. He stayed with his biological sister whom theyd found abandoned at the fire department, they were soon separated into a boys and girls home and never got the chance to see each other until years later. They had been enrolled in the same high school and rekindled, it was there his sister introduced him to Hope Van Dyne, in which he had fallen completely head over heels with her, he had tried to get her to go out with him for months in which she refused but after a while she agreed and the two began to fall for each other. The two dated for years until the two had an argument which ended in the two splitting after almost getting married. Before the events of Antman Quantumania, the two reunited, only to find out Archer had a rare form of bone cancer, the two remained friends at the time, since Hope had now had feelings for Scott Lang, however a piece of Hope's heart had still been held by this man. He had soon passed on and Hope had cut her hair in honor of him (hence her haircut in the movie) The last thing Archer said to Hope was "let me go" which mirrors when Scott tells Hope "don't let me go" in antman 3.
