Rat was a nameless young man about seventeen years old but he looked as if he was in his mid-thirties due to being malnourished and unclean condition.

He was a wiry figure with keen, observant eyes that gleamed with a mix of sadness and desperation. His nimble frame allows him to slip through narrow passages unnoticed. Tattered clothing and dirt-streaked skin conceal a resilience forged in the unforgiving depths of the city.

He always spent his day in hunger, his parents were both branded as heretics by the Crest Crusaders when he was four years old, leaving him alone for the street at the mercy of the citizens of Lyondyn who saw him as a disgusting offspring of heretics.

When he was thrown into the street he didn't even remember his name. Even a rat has a name, but not Rat. even the orphanage didn't accept him. Words on the street have it The Crest Crusaders made both his parents walk the Valley, a desolate territory full of walking corpses at the north of the empire.

Rat was the pariah for even the slum society itself. The sewer was his only source of food and shelter.

Rat was smart enough not to eat the rats in the sewer as he was eating leftovers flushed by the amusement district where they got many restaurants and taverns. If he was lucky he would get edible food but most of the days he only got little to no food flushed down the sewer to his place.

there were times when he wished he had never been born.

Those people who live in the sewer of Liondine are called rats. most of them are dream junkies, broken people who lost their minds, and homeless who can't have their place in the slum all gathered in each corner of the sewer system.

he used to pickpocket until he met a rat terrier breed puppy. He was a bad pickpocket as no one ever taught him how to, as he escaped the Crown's watch and got lost in the sewer before he met the puppy. The puppy led him to the tunnel exit, away from the Crown's watches.

Rat was the only friend Rat had. Rat was a Rat Terrier dog breed, it taught him to navigate the intricate underground tunnel network until he remembered it like the back of his hand. Hence he was named Rat due to the dog companion was a rat terrier breed.

He ran as fast as he could to reunite with his life companion. until he arrived at the Creaking Shack. He went to the side of the wooden wall to get inside and look for his dog.

"N-no, no Rat no," Rat grieved deeply as he saw his dog.

Rat found Rat was indeed in the creaking shack, the abandoned haunted shack no one dared to venture closer even for the slumdogs.

It was hung to a chandelier, lifeless.
