The drive to the hospital had never felt slower.
She hadn't slept the night before and had been packing since 3 am as she needed to keep her mind busy.
Ebony felt herself trembling as Soap put a hand on her thigh before drawing small circles on her jeans.
"He's ok Bonnie" Soap said.
"Shut up," she said.
He smiled before patting her thigh.
She knew Gaz was ok but she was still nervous to see him.
Once they got to the hospital she rushed in.
She rushed past the front desk.
Ebony could hear the nurses telling her to stop but she kept going.
She knew she could explain later if the others hadn't already.
Once she got to the room she placed her hand on the handle before taking in a breath.
He was awake and ok but that didn't change how anxious she was.
Gas even the slightest bit could kill someone and she wasn't sure how much he truly inhaled.
Ebony then opened the door before seeing him going through the very limited TV channels.
There were no wires and he looked fine.
Weak but fine.
"Kyle," she said.
He turned his head causing their eyes to meet.
"Ebony," he said before groaning as she rushed to him before wrapping her arms around him.
He smiled "Missed me?" He asked.
"More than anything," she said.
"Me too," he said before placing his head in the crook of her neck to smell her perfume.
"How much gas did you breathe in?" She asked.
"I'm not sure.
The doctors said there's nothing left in my system" he said.
She looked at him before kissing him.
He smiled against her lips as the kiss deepened.
She then looked into his eyes.
"I love you," she said.
"What?" He asked.
"I said it when you went into a coma," she said.
"Dammit.
I hate that I missed that" he said.
"All that matters is that you won't miss anything else," she said.
"Say it again" he asked.
She looked at him.
"I love you," she said.
"I love you too, babe," he said.
He kissed her quickly before the door opened.
Everyone else came in.
"Nice to see you alive Gaz" Price said.
"It's nice to be alive cap" Gaz said.
"Did you tell him, Bonnie?" Soap asked as he tossed a change of clothes for Gaz on the bed.
"Tell me what?" Gaz asked.
"Our month-long leave starts today and because you're gonna be out for the count for a week or so Lazwell is giving us two months" Ebony said.
"That's good.
I don't think it would be smart to put me on a mission right now" he said.
"It would be horrific," Ghost said.
"That's why we're leaving now.
Johnny sorted it as he knows the place we're being sent to.
He promised to not bring his large fucking family to meet me as well which is great" Ebony said.
"They're nice people las" Soap said.
"We're not talking about it.
It's going to just be us" Ebony said.
"Now get dressed.
We'll be in the vehicle outside.
Black truck" she said.
"We'll pick you up a cuppa on the way," Price said.
"I rather have a pint," Gaz said.
She smiled.
"Later," she said before leaving the room.
She then looked at Ghost as he walked out.
"It's all working out," she said.
"It always does," he said.
"You wanna know what I'm looking forward to the most about this break?" She asked.
"What?" He asked.
"I can't wait to see Simon again.
I've been missing him lately" she said.
"Don't get your hopes up" he said.
She smiled "Both versions of you are perfect but it's nice to see who you are.
Who you've always been" she said before taking his hand.
"We'll see," he said as their fingers laced together.
