Y/n's POV

Kenako still hadn't woken up by the time we got home. I wasn't a hundred percent worried because I knew his body needed to recover from being healed. I just don't understand why my power didn't heal his eyes. "Do you think Adder could have thrown powder at him?" Other Lloyd asked.

"If that's true we'll just need to wash out his eyes when he wakes up," Nya said.

But I was already shaking my head at them both. "My power still would have been able to heal him if it was just some regular powder. There's something else to it."

"What though?" Kai asked.

I threw up my hands. "How should I know?!? I wasn't there." Though I should have been. I put my head in my hands and could feel the tears working their way down my cheeks.

Arms came around me. "I need to talk to Y/n," my Lloyd said. "Could you guys give us a few minutes?"

"Sure," Nya said and I heard them leave.

"Y/n, it will be okay," he told me softly.

I shook my head. "I can't heal him and that's the only thing I'm good at."

"No, you're good at a million other things too."

I looked at him. "Name one."

"Uniting people," he said without hesitation.

I shook my head. "That was a while ago."

"But we're all still united."

I sighed. "More like the only thing I'm good at is bringing danger to our family."

Lloyd shook his head. "You're forgetting that I was the target before I married you."

"Before you married me, we had Liam to deal with," I pointed out.

He scowled. "You know what I meant."

"M-mommy?" Kenako said weakly. "D-daddy?"

Both of us looked at him. "We're here, sweetheart," I said.

"My eyes hurt."

I flinched and Lloyd tightened his grip around me. "I know. Can you tell me what happened to them?"

"Burning powder."

Burning powder? Maybe it was ash. But even then my power would have healed him. "Did you see what it looked like before he threw it at you?" Lloyd asked.

Kenako shook his head. "It just burned. It still kind of burns."

"Can we try washing it out?" I asked him softly. He nodded and Lloyd got up and grabbed some water. For the next fifteen minutes, we carefully rinsed Ken's eyes out. "How's that?"

He blinked. "I can't see."

Damn. "Does it still burn?"

"No." Tears filled his eyes. "Will I ever see again, Mommy?"

I opened my mouth but then shut. Truth is, I had no idea. "You will," Lloyd said confidently. I looked at him and he tugged me against him. "He will," he repeated in my ear.

Then Ken's eyes widened. "What about Jon?!? Is he okay?"

"Whoa, come down. You're brother just had a few bruises. He's alright," I said gently.

Relief slid into his eyes. He couldn't see but his eyes still showed how he was feeling. "Why isn't he in here?"

"Uh..." Jon blamed himself for what happened. That's why he wasn't in the room. "He was tired so we thought it would be best if he went and got some sleep," I lied and grimaced when Lloyd's grip tightened briefly. He still doesn't like lies. Even if it's a white lie like that one.

"Which is what you should do now," Lloyd added.

I gave him an incredulous look. He wasn't going to tell Ken I lied? That's new. Lloyd shot me a we'll talk about this later look. Ken's eyes slid shut. "Okay." And he was out.

"Damn, he falls asleep quickly," I muttered. Lucky kid.

"Yeah, but he might have nightmares," Lloyd replied. We left the room. "By the way, why did you lie?"

"I didn't want him even more upset. He would start freaking out if he knew Jon blamed himself for what happened," I explained.

Lloyd sighed. "You know how I feel about lies."

"Let's just let the kids talk this out. Please?"

He glanced at me. "You know Jon's going to start apologizing as soon as he sees Ken, right?"

"I know," I said grumpily. "He'll think it's his fault even if Ken tells him it wasn't his fault. Or if we tell him for that matter." Mostly because we already did tell him that and he went to his room in response.

"Just like you're already blaming yourself?" He said pointedly.

I gave him a dark look. "Who's Adder after? Who have they all been after? Me. So yes, I am blaming myself. But that's because it is."

Lloyd's eyes softened. "Y/n, it's not your fault."

I held up a hand. "Don't. It is my fault. I don't want you to make me feel better. Okay?"

He frowned. "I'm your husband. It's my job to comfort you."

"I know," I said softly. "But I don't want comfort at the moment." I kissed him and set Hydra on his shoulder. "I just want to be left alone." I walked away.
