Y/n's POV

We stayed there for about fifteen minutes before Lloyd and I carried the kids to their rooms. "Y/n," Lloyd said when we got to our room.

I looked at him. "Hmm?"

He tugged me against him. "Do you feel better now or do you still need some time?"

I laid my head against his chest. "I don't know. I just wish I wasn't putting you and the kids in danger all the time."

Lloyd sighed. "Y/n, these people might be after you we're all family. This is what family does. They protect each other." He paused. "Uh, by the way, you haven't had morning sickness yet, have you?"

I lifted my head and frowned. "You're right. I haven't. Which is odd." I ran my hand over my stomach. There wasn't a bump yet but I usually have morning sickness by now. "Maybe I'll get lucky and not have morning sickness," I said with more than a little hope in my voice.

He snorted. "Don't get your hopes up."

Kenako's POV

When I woke up, I knew I was in my room. I sighed and sat up wishing I could see. Suddenly I heard voices but I knew they weren't in my room or outside my door. They were in my head but they sounded a lot like my family.

I hope Ken gets better soon, that sounded like Aunt Nya.

I hope Nya stops bugging me for kids, that was definitely Uncle Jay.

Am I hearing their thoughts? I rubbed my eyes then looked around but froze. "Holy moly," I blurted. I could see. I jumped out of bed and rushed out of my room to my parents. "Mom, Dad, I can see!" I yelled.

They both were hugging but looked at me. "That's great!" Mom said letting go of Dad and hugging me.

"How?" Dad said.

"I don't know," I said. "But I think I can see because I finally developed a power."

Mom froze. "What kind of power?"

I can tell from her thoughts that she was worried. I smiled a little. "I can read minds."

She blinked and I felt her build a wall in her head. "That's...uh...wow."

I giggled. "Mom, I can tell you're shocked by your thoughts. Dad too."

She scowled. "Stay out of my mind."

"I can't control it." I paused. "Yet. And your wall is effective. You just have to make it a little stronger." I looked at my Dad. He had a wary look on his face. "I'm not going to purposely read your thoughts," I added. Not that I really wanted to know what my parents thought about.

Y/n's POV

I looked at my son thoughtfully. "Maybe you had needed to lose your sight in order to gain your ability."

Ken nodded. "Maybe something has to happen to Jon so his power shows up."

The mere thought of one of my kids getting hurt again made me have a slight panic attack. "Or that was unique to you," Lloyd said seeing the panic in my eyes.

Ken thought about that. "Maybe."

"It's late," I said. "Go get some sleep, okay?" He nodded and ran off. I turned to Lloyd. "What if he's right?" I said worriedly.

Lloyd shut our bedroom door then tugged me to our bed. "It could be and it might not be."

I sat on the edge of the bed. "Knowing our family it's probably true."

Lloyd forced me to lie down. Then laid beside me. "Y/n, stop thinking about it. We all get our powers in different ways."

"But..."

He clamped his hand over my mouth. "Shh. You haven't slept in the past two weeks. Get some sleep."

I gave him a pointed glare and he dropped his hand. "Have I ever told you that you're pushy?" I grumbled lying my head on his shoulder.

He shrugged. "You don't need to tell me that. I know that's what you think all the time."

"Jerk," I muttered and shut my eyes.

Lloyd just chuckled. "Goodnight."

"Night." I fell asleep.
