It's been a week since the party and I convinced my mom to let me go live with my aunt in Alpine, Texas. I had to get away, I needed time to think. I finally had my first relationship and it went up in flames. It was the night before I left, and I was just finishing packing up my truck. I packed my laptop and iPod. I made sure to pack my favorite books, classics. I could've live without them.
The next morning I woke up at 3:00 am. God I felt like I was gonna pass out, I'm exhausted. I got up, got dressed in the clothes I laid out last night, my favorite yoga pants and my favorite band T-shirt, Vampire Weekend, I had gone to one of their concert a couple years ago with a few friends. After I packed up whatever I used this morning, I drove off. I decided to go get coffee considering I was about to fall asleep. Starbucks was closed, so I settled with McDonald's coffee. I had a long, 17 hour drive ahead of me.
The first few hours weren't so bad, but by 9:00 o'clock I needed more coffee. By this time a Starbucks should be open so I kept driving until I saw a Starbucks sign. I pulled over and walked inside, yea I looked disgusting but I needed to stretch my legs. I ordered a venti, white chocolate mocha. After I paid I walked back outside to my car. I hadn't looked at my phone all day, so I decided to look. I had 5 missed calls from Ethan and 10 messages. He hasn't left me alone since what happened. I threw my phone in the back seat and got back on the road. After too many hours of driving, and too many cups of coffee, I arrived in Alpine. I stopped at 7/11 to freshen up before I saw my aunt.
After getting lost three times thanks to the helpful maps app, I finally found my aunts ranch. Bumping on the dirt road, I drove through a metal gate. I walked up to the porch, and rang the doorbell.
