Dani made her way through the Palm Woods lobby with her song book in hand, trying to figure out a new song.

"Hey."

The girl came to a halt as the Knight boy stopped in front of her, causing her to send him a smile. "Um, I know we were supposed to hang out today, but I have to babysit a 50-year-old man."

"Babylace. I heard." Dani nodded. "That's fine. Gustavo wanted me to work on a new song anyway."

"Great. It all works out." Kendall smiled. "So, goodbye kiss?"

Kendall leaned in to kiss the girl, only for her to move her head, causing him to kiss her cheek.

She sent the boy a small smile before walking past him toward the elevator.

"Okay. There's that awkwardness again."

"I don't know what you were expecting, Kendall. You went MIA all day and purposely avoided me. I had to wait around all day in my head just for you to come tell me you wanted to be with me and not your ex." Dani sighed, glancing down at the ground before she looked back up at the boy. "Look, I didn't want things to be awkward either, but it's a little late for that."

She turned around and stepped into the elevator as Kendall raced over to the door.

"Well, I love you." Kendall called as the doors closed, causing her to send him another smile before the door closed completely.

...

Dani sighed as she plopped down on the Robert's couch.

"What's wrong?" Charlie asked, glancing over at the girl.

"It's just Kendall."

"I thought you guys were fine? I mean, he chose you." Charlie said, turning to the girl and raising his eyebrow. "He did choose you, right?"

"Yeah, he did; it's just... Things have been really awkward ever since Jo's been around." Dani admitted.

"How so?" Charlie questioned.

"Well, for starters, we can't be in the same room alone without there being this weird, unspoken awkwardness between us." Dani groaned.

"Maybe you're just still in your head about the whole thing." Charlie suggested. "I mean, you prepared yourself for the worst possible outcome of your relationship, and now it's just... stuck."

"I don't know, maybe."

Dani watched her phone light up on the coffee table, causing her to reach over for it.

"It's Kendall." Dani announced. "He wants to meet in the park."

"That's a good thing, right? I mean, isn't that like your guy's thing? Picnic's in the park."
