A new trend started. In the coming of many days, Brooklyn would wake up and he would feel nauseated within a short time after waking up. He couldn't bring himself to eat breakfast anymore in the early evening. He had to wait until the morning hours to eat.
He had no idea what was happening to his body. He felt cramping at times down in his stomach. He would also get lightheaded too. His chest also started to feel strange too, like he would get tingly nipples. He was more concerned about his stomach issues.
Brooklyn would never get sick so soon after waking up. He figured that there might be some leftover food still in his digestive tract considering how late he was fed now.
When Irene made a stop in to see him, she asked, "How are you feeling tonight?"
"How do I look like how I feel?!" He snapped at her. "With how late you are now feeding me, what are you putting on my food?! I'm always waking up and feeling like my stomach hates me! And what's up with those pills you are making me take?!" He was really upset.
"We aren't putting anything extra on your food at all. Everything we give you for your food is all organic, that I assure you." Irene explained. "The pills are just for the nausea that we see you having every night now. Maybe there's something in your digestion that's off. And I must say, what's up with you never using the toilet to empty your bowels out? Does your stone sleep get rid of old food too from the night before?"
"As far as I know. It seems that way. But... oh..." Brooklyn was feeling a churning in his belly right that moment. He then grabbed his beak and ran for the toilet and barfed up some bile.
When he was done, he was breathing hard. "Oh, I hate this..." Brooklyn sat against the wall with a hand over his stomach.
"Yeah, throwing up can make your stomach hurt too. Do you feel like you need some medicine right now?" she asked him.
"Anything to make this pain stop." Brooklyn moaned.
There was just something in his voice that made what she was doing feel like she was liking what was happening to him. She eyed his belly. She wanted to examine him so badly.
"I'll get you some anti-nausea medicine." Irene said. She left and returned with a bottled water for him along with two pills. "Here, swallow these. They should take the edge off the nausea in a bit."
Brooklyn was still shaky after vomiting but he got up and got the pills and water from her. He gladly took the pills to try to relieve the nausea. "Thanks."
"Welcome. Why don't you go for a glide and distract yourself for a bit. Get some fresh air." Irene declared. "You always seem to love going outside."
"Yeah, sure." Brook replied. He took her advice and went outside to get some air.
He spread his wings and took a glide around the dome outside. It did help to clear his head a bit more. He still liked being outdoors more than anything. He would also walk around his enclosure and just sit on the rocks too. And occasionally, he would go for a swim as well. But he hadn't felt like swimming since the nausea started.
When he went back inside after gliding, there was a can of ginger ale waiting for him. Ginger was good for pregnancy nausea too. He gladly downed it.
He was getting tired of the foods that he was currently being fed night after night. Just toast, bananas, apples, and crackers.
When Frank came in to feed him, he instantly snapped, "I don't want to eat this anymore! I want something meaty! A steak, or some chicken or something."
"Sure, and if it makes you sick?" Frank questioned.
"I'll take my chances." Brooklyn proclaimed.
"Alright." Frank went to switch out the food with some lean chicken, grapes, carrots, mashed potatoes, and a steak for him.
