The kidnappings indeed stopped after that. The Xanatos' were also glad that Alex hadn't been taken from them.
Elisa proclaimed that the whole agency had been taken apart and dismantled. The officials would all be going to jail for a long time.
.............
One month later...
Irene and Vick arrived back in New York to try to find their gargoyle. Likely, he could have made it back here to New York by now, that is if he wasn't waiting somewhere for the pregnancy to be over. But here was a good start to start looking for him again.
The whole team went to work looking for an abandoned or a research building for sale to buy to hold their gargoyle once they found him again. Irene was determined to get Brooklyn back. She still wanted to know if her project was a success. Had the pregnancy lasted for the last eight months?
She had a plan to locate another gargoyle and they would dart it and put a tracker on it and follow the source to where their lair was. They had no plans to hurt the gargoyle. This would be the best chance to locate Brooklyn.
They soon loaded up dart guns and with night vision goggles and binoculars, the team went searching around the city. Even if a chosen gargoyle was with another one, they would tag both of them to see if they went to the same place.
...............
It took a few nights, but in Midtown, two gargoyles were spotted gliding, and the team didn't see Brooklyn, but they saw a little green one with webbed wings and an aqua male.
Irene and Vick were radioed by their team and the men were told to dart one of them. They did as they were told.
It was better to dart the smaller one so the bigger one would go after him as he fell. Then they would dart the bigger one too.
Lex and Broadway were just gliding along minding their own business when suddenly, Lex felt a sharp feeling in his left leg. He yelped in pain.
"What is it, Lex?" Broadway asked.
"I felt something sharp in my leg." Lex replied and he looked down, seeing a white dart in his leg. "Not good." Then he got dizzy and started to fall unconscious.
"Lex!" Broadway shouted and he dove after his brother, folding his wings up to make sure he got the fastest speed he could go to make sure he didn't hit a rooftop hard or cement for that matter. He caught him as they were nearly to a rooftop. Then he landed. "Gotcha, buddy."
Broadway then pulled the dart out of Lex's leg and glared at it. Who would have done this? He looked around. Then he too felt a dart in his back, making him cry out too. He nearly dropped Lex. He turned around to face the attackers.
The drug started working then. He fell to his knees, and he managed to put Lex down first before falling onto his front side and was out too.
"We got two more males it seems." One man declared.
"I don't care. Just put trackers on them." Irene ordered.
Some small button-like trackers were put on both Broadway and Lexington in case they thought they might separate. They were put on their belts in the back where the devices wouldn't likely be detected so easily.
"Now, leave them and wait. Get on your flying bikes and follow at a distance." Irene ordered.
"Yes, Ma'am." The darts were also removed.
.............
It took a while for the two gargoyles to wake up. They were both groggy but were alright. Neither had been harmed. They looked each other over and found they were on a rooftop.
