I took 20 steps towards the door and already I can tell that the universe truly hates me.
I was about to open the big oak doors that were the entrance to the office when without warning one of the doors swung open and hit me square in the face.
For a few seconds all I could see were smudges of color that consisted of browns and shimmering golds. As well all the sounds around me were muffled and impossible to distinguish.
I slightly felt myself stumbling and then a falling sensation overtook me until I felt a strong embrace keeping me from hitting the ground.
After a few seconds of confusement my vision finally cleared and I could finally see the causer of all of this distress.
I was not disappointed that's for sure.
Probably one of the best looking humans I have seen in a long time. They had shimmering golden blond hair, tan skin from hours worshipping the sun, and thoughtful golden brown eyes. Don't even get me started on this guys body. I mean he did just catch a limp human with one arm.
In my distracted gazing I seemed to have been completely spaced and didn't hear that this lion like man had been trying to talk to me this entire time until a pair of snapping fingers took up my view.
" Seriously do you have a concussion or something? You were spaced out for a good couple minutes or so." He spoke in a condescending tone.
His tone was enough to send me into cautious mode causing me to finally stand on my two feet and shoot the lion man an unimpressed glare.
He responds to my glare with a mocking smirk and an even more condescending tone if that was even possible. "What? Strawberry shortcake doesn't like my tone? I mean, who caught you from eating a face full of cement?"
I reply with as much obvious resentment that I could muster, "Obviously an arrogant asshat who likes hearing himself speak way to much and can't seem to open a door like a normal person, but instead has to go banging about like a gorilla. (🙏Harmbe) Now if I may be free from his majesty's presence I have to go get my schedule." I don't even give the lion man a passing glance and just finally carry myself into the school shoving him out of the way in the process.
Without even making it 3 steps a hand grabs my wrist forcing me to jerk around. I'm facing the lion boy again now, I might have to change that nickname to "Boy who doesn't know what personal space is" due to the fact that we can't stop, or HE can't seem to stop touching me.
"God dammit what is it now!?!?" I exasperatingly lament to him while yanking my hand out of his grasp.
He just gives me a lazy smirk and a slight head tilt as he looks down at me given our major height difference. Like yah I get that I'm short and guys are usually quite tall but, GOSH does this boy inhale steroids or something!?!?
Interupting my internal complaints amusingly speaks, "Do you even know where the office is?"
Dammit. I have a map with the office circled, but in a school that might as well be a small city it doesn't mean much.
Huffing, I turn my head towards the lion boy who is grinning like the Cheshire cat at my predicament and obvious discomfort. "Ok then, do you mind showing the way there Columbus?" I angrily speak.
"Why of course! What kind of respecting gentlemen would I be if I didn't help a damsel in distress?" He replies as though it was almost a sarcastic given.
I just roll my eyes and motion for him to get to moving. He saunters in front of me and starts to head in the presumed direction of the office, not ever looking back to see if I'm following. I make sure to keep at least 4 of those square tiles that are on school floors in between us.
We walk past several wooden doors and light blue lockers until he finally breaks the silence, "So does the ginger have a name?" He annoyingly asks.
"Sure do, it's "None of your business."" I sarcastically reply.
"Hello none of my business I'm Jace, welcome to Alicante High." He finishs that "brilliant" reply with a quick head turn and a wink in my direction.
This is gonna be a great year I sarcastically think in my head as we continue on our mini little adventure to the office.
Mom, if your watching me right now please give me the strength not to neuter this asshole.
