Ben gripped the wheel of his truck tightly as he drove. He didn't know if this deal would end with a body.
The leader of this gang requested 15 more glocks last minute and thought they were going to be on the house. He didn't know what these men took him for and they definitely thought wrong.
But, now he didn't know if he was walking into a setup or not. Santiago, the leader of this gang was a real piece of work and an ass whole. Trying to assert his authority and bitch him.
Nothing really scared Ben at all. He had been in the gang and left home at 17. He was now 34 and had seen and done so much that nothing phased him. However, he still got nervous and in his head at the thought of being ambushed.
It was evening time by the time he made it to the cor-de-sac. Other houses had windows boarded up, yards weren't cut and beer cans, bottles, and only god knows what else littered the ground.
Santiago's house wasn't any better. The paint peeled off the sides and the foundation was in a shitty state. Discarded furniture was in the front.
Ben kept the car running as he got out. His gun was in the back of his pants. He noticed Santiago outside with no shirt on. A huge skull on his chest and the initials of his gang.
Because Santiago was a whole foot shorter than Ben, he figured that he showed up shirtless to every deal he made. Hoping the tats would make him look more powerful and more badass. He guessed tougher and bigger. Like the overlord of a serious Mexican cartel rather than the leader of a small-town street gang.
Ben looked at the handle of his gun sticking out of his pants, which was supposed to convince sellers to give him whatever he wanted.
But definitely not tonight. These men didn't know they were dealing with Ben Warren and he could fuck a round and find out the hard way. He was given the name Grim Reaper by the time he was 20.
"Man, We don't do anything free. You requested 15 extra and you are going to give up the bread that goes with each one. "Ben said simply, not bothering to sugarcoat his words like his brothers would have done. He really just wanted to make this sale and get out of this roach town.
This town was supposedly nice at first until Santiago and his crew moved in on it. Now every sign was graffited with their symbol and initials.
Ben looked at his boys and these men called themselves soldiers. He almost wanted to laugh. That was the advantage in this situation and for which he was grateful. None of these cowards could really shoot and knew their head from their asses. He liked that little gangs popped up all the time. It meant more business opportunities and more target practices.
The only guys he had to worry about were the 3 or 4 on the front porch waiting for shit to hit the fan. And there could have been a few hidden within the cor-de-sac and if that was the case then maybe he would die tonight.
"You Cali cartels don't do nothing on the house? That ain't what I heard."
"Well, my brothers and I handle shit differently. You're dealing with me now and what I'm telling you is we don't do nothing on the house."
"You sure because I put in a pretty big order. 15 more Glocks are the least you could do." Santiago replied smoking a cigarette.
"Well, you know what they say about opinions." Ben shrugged not moved and quite frankly about to get pissed off.
"Ima ask you one more time are you sure," Santiago responded resting his hand on the handle of his gun.
Ben resisted a smile. He actually had to give the guy credit, he had some balls. Santiago was at an advantage. Ben never did these deals with others because he always wanted to protect the guys from something dangerous and truthfully they were hotheads. So now he was alone. If Santiago killed him. He would have killed one of the most prominent members of Cali's Cartel. He had spent over 10 years working his way from the bottom to being 3rd in command and this definitely would have sparked a war with gangs.
