"What are we doing for Christmas? Ben asked rubbing Miranda's feet.
"Christmas?"
"Yeah, it's coming up."
"After Halloween and Thanksgiving," Miranda joked softly. "I don't know about Christmas yet but I want to make Khalil a big Thanksgiving meal and for you too. You aren't planning to leave are you?"
"Of course not, all those trips are done. I'm done with all of that. I need to find a real job so I can make money."
"What about fixing cars? You always fix anything."
"That's actually a very good Idea. I could set it up in the backyard."
"Mmm-hmmm,"
"I talked to Curt earlier he wants me to go to Seattle for Christmas but he lost me when he started mentioning vegan food. So I'm here...What about for Christmas though? You sure you have nothing planned?"
Miranda laughed looking over at him. "What's funny?" he asked.
"I just never pegged you for being big on holiday plans,"
"My family loved holidays and I guess being with you and Khalil has inspired me,"
"I'm glad I could be of inspiration."
"You are always of inspiration...I noticed that we've been here for a long time and you haven't called not one girlfriend. You don't talk to the women at work?"
"I talk to them but only at work," she answered.
"You should make a friend"
"Ben,
"Put your best foot forward and try,"
"I will," she rolled her eyes.
"You're such a big baby."
"As long as I am yours right," she laughed.
Miranda sat at her desk, her focus trained on the computer as she filled in the patient records.
"Hey, Miranda,"
"Hey," Miranda replied looking at her coworker.
"A couple of us are going to the bar and lounge on Friday after work. You should come. You always say no,"
"Alright, I'll come," she forced a smile.
Friday night came and Miranda had on a black dress and black booties. She placed her purse on her shoulder as she walked into the living room.
"Dam," Ben mumbled looking over and looking her up and down.
"You going out like that?"
"Yeah is this okay?" She asked nervously.
"I mean it's perfect. You might not make any friends because those girls might be jealous that you are about to turn heads and get attention. Are you sure you don't need a bodyguard?" Ben played looking at her hips before licking his lips.
"I'm sure," she laughed.
"You look beautiful," Khalil said.
"I agree," Ben replied before placing his hands over Khalil's ears. "Be prepared tonight to get pinned to the mattress."
Miranda's eyes widened and she blushed putting her head down. She moved the hair out of her face before nodding her head at him and walking to the door.
"Have a good time tonight and call me if you need me,"
"Okay, I will,"
Miranda walked outside and got into Christian's car. "Hey girl," she greeted.
