*Annie's POV
"Okay, dibs that one!" Leila shouted at me. I quickly walked past this extremely attractive guy and brushed up against his arm. Under my breath, I whispered, "dibs." I skipped over to my group of friends with pride of my accomplishment. Yet another guy who didn't notice I dibs'd him. They erupted in cheers and clapping, while I bowed.
I should probably explain this game. The rules including touching a guy in someway and saying the word dibs without him noticing. Seems simple, right? After awhile it gets boring, so to mix it up every once in a while, we'll touch their ass, give them a hug, pretend to trip, etc. Over the years we've become experts at the game and have gotten some weird glances as well as a couple of numbers.
We were on our way to the Food Court to buy some Chinese food for lunch, when we saw this group of guys with beanies on. The more guys, the higher chance they'll notice you; it's a great challenge. "Annie, you go first, dibs the one with the plaid on." Emma elbowed me and I was off.
I snuck up and broke up the group, as the one with plaid on was in the middle of 5 boys. "Excuse me, dibs" I muttered on my breath. As I was walking past, his foot caught mine, which caused me to trip, the stranger caught me. You know, like in romance movies where she's facing him, he looks in her eyes and all he sees in the world is her. His brown eyes were more enchanting than those I fell in love with on the magazines, on tv shows, in my dreams. How do you greet the person you've been hopelessly head over heels in love with? 'Hi, let's get married. Is it too soon? Oops'.
"Ello beautiful." Beautiful? Liam James Payne just called me beautiful. Never in my life did i ever think i would meet my savior, let alone be called such a sweet name.
I didn't say a word. I simply stared at him, i memorized every part of his face, how his smile reached his eyes, the way his cheeks rose with his smile, every single detail. He slowly set me back on my feet, the warmth of his large hands disappearing. The smile that brought joy to me on so many dark days, left. "Umm mates, is she okay?" He questioned, turning to face the other four boys i know better than myself. Each of these boys carry a part of my heart, whether they know it or not, they're my other halves.
"OH MY GOD! Wait, I need to play it cool. This is me being calm. Hey..." I trailed off. And that ladies and gentleman is how you properly embarrass yourself in front of One Direction. I looked over to see Leila on her knees, praising them for their angelic voices and perfect bodies.
Liam looked over me, scarred. "Is she okay?" Leila at this point was in tears.
"This is pretty normal for her. I'd be joining her, but i'm afraid that this is just a dream," I looked him honestly in his eyes. My dreams of these five heroes have been so realistic, daytime ripping me out of what I thought was true. Every morning, it's crushing to know that it was just my imagination playing yet another trick on me.
"This is real life babe," he whispered, stepping closer.
