The day went by quick as we scavenged what we could, and soon night fell. Mitch helped me bar the door as Jerome watched Ty, who still hadn't woken up. It was starting to worry me, so I busied my hands with tasks to get my mind off him. Soon, everyone starts yawning and we tuck in for the night.
I drift off and start dreaming, but I know I'm dreaming. Ty is awake and looking at me with worried eyes, as Mitch talks to Jerome without words. Their mouths are moving but no sound is coming out. I look towards Ty again and he's showing me his wrist, which is bare and scarring. I feel a burning in my own wrist, like my skin is melting. I hold it up and stare in horror as the same sign, the x, that Ty has appears as if being branded on me. I try to scream but no sound escapes my mouth. I try to yell at Ty but he just sits and grins a creepy grin at me.

"Sky..." A voice is calling me.

"Sky."

"SKY!" I bolt up, a scream piercing my ears. It takes a second until I realize it's me, and I shut my mouth. Mitch and Jerome look at me with wide eyes as Ty is sitting up, rubbing his head.

"Ahhh." I let out a hiss as pain seeps into my consciousness, a throb and burning on my wrist. I slowly lift it and stare in horror at the x.

"Sky..." Mitch whispers as he looks at me with scared eyes.

"It- it's nothing." I try to hide it but they've already seen.

"Sky, what is it? Who's doing it?" I shake my head at Jerome and reply,

"I have no idea." Looking up I focus behind Mitch and Jerome.

"Ty!" He's looking at us with wide eyes. I didn't even notice him.

"I woke up when you screamed." He says quietly and I get up, checking his head. The bandage is tinted red and I change it, careful as he winces every now and then.

"We should go." I say, wrapping my own wrist, and Jerome and Mitch start getting the bags.

"Where are we going?" Ty stands and asks. I forgot, he was asleep when we decided.

"To Honam. The first of the seven cities? We're gonna follow the road to Caelum." He nods.

"Ok." I hand him a lighter bag, and grab two of my own.

"Ready?" Mitch asks as we pick through the destroyed house and emerge into sunlight. I gulp.

"Yea. Let's go."

Today's really hot, a sticky, nasty hot that lingers on your skin and makes you sticky. We're all trudging through the forest, sticking to patches of shade. Ty looked a bit feverish and sweaty in the morning, but he got better and is keeping up with all of us.

"This is torture." Jerome moans, and Mitch shoves him.

"It's not really that far." Ty says.

"Once we get out of the forest there will be a path. It leads to a bigger road, which will take us to Honam." I look at him, impressed by him knowledge.

"How do you know that?" I ask, and he shrugs.

"Before I met you all, I traveled a lot." He doesn't offer any explanation further and I don't press him. Mitch and Jerome are to busy panting to ask anyways.
A while passes before I ask,

"So how do we know where the road is?" Ty keeps his gaze down.

"It used to lead into a village at the edge of the forest. Find the village, find the road."

"We can stop for supplies too." Mitch adds and Ty shakes his head.

"Actually....the last time I saw this village it was....destroyed. I found these in the rubble." He taps his headphones with one hand and I stiffen. Ty glances at me.

"I'm pretty sure it's your village Sky, so-" I cut him off quickly.

"I'll be fine." He shrugs but glances at me from time to time, as if to see if I was lying. I wasn't. I'll be fine....right?
