Thwack!
The sound of a punch echoed through the shed. Followed by a loud groan as Randall fell to the floor. The teenager coughed as he cried for mercy. Daryl's fist impacted the boys cheek once more. Followed by another. The boy spit out blood on to the dust covered floor.
"I told you–" Randall pleaded.
"You ain't told me shit!" Daryl yelled grasping the boy by the shirt collar and slamming him against the door.
"I barely knew those guys," Randall pleaded. "I met 'em on the road."
"How many in your group?" Daryl asked, his tone sharp as he stood over the boy. He didn't take pleasure in doing this, but he'd do it to keep his girl's safe. Shane couldn't be trusted to get information out of the boy, he'd simply kill the boy. And Rick? Daryl didn't think Rick had the balls to do it. Randall said nothing, eyeing Daryl's hand as he took his buck knife out of the sheath on his belt.
"No, no, no, no, no." Randall cried. "Come on man!"
Daryl took his knife, raising it and slamming it down right next to his leg. The boy let out a yelp of terror as Daryl got even closer to his face.
"How many?!" Daryl screamed, spittle landing on the boys face.
"Uh, 30. 30 guys." Randall gasped.
"Where?" Daryl said, ripping the bandage off of the boys leg.
"I don't know!" Randall said yelling out in pain. "I swear! We were never anyplace more than a night."
"Scouting?" He put his knife on the barely closed wound, one hand held the knee steady. "Planning on staying local?"
"I don't know, they-" Randall was shaking with terror under Daryl's grip. "They left me behind!"
"Did you ever pick off a scab?" Daryl asked, slowly dragging the knife across the wound. "Start real slow at first. Sooner or later, you've just gotta rip it off."
"Okay! Okay!" Randall complied, stammering as he tried to get the next words out. Daryl didn't move his knife from the boys leg though. "They have weapons, heavy stuff, automatics. But I didn't do anything."
"Your boys shot at my boys, tried to take this farm." Daryl snarled, getting closer to the boys face. "You just went along for the ride? You're trying to tell me you're innocent?"
"Yes!" Randall cried. "Not just guys, a whole group of 'em. Men and women. Kids too, just like you people! Thought I'd have a better chance with them, you know?"
Daryl didn't like the fact that the kid knew about Frankie and Carl. It left a weird feeling in his stomach. What could this kid do with that kind of information? Daryl began to walk away, pacing towards the other end of the shed.
