The following morning Lucky awoke a little groggy and his eyes stung from the smoke the day before. He peers into the cave where he last saw Reina however she was missing. Her scent faint as he took in the scents around him. The sun was a bit higher today. Something unusual had happened throughout the night. He hadn't had his usual nightmare. He had rested all throughout the night. Standing up he lets out a long stretch, his muscles ached from being stiff so long. Taking a few steps he peers over the cliff. Taking in the sights from below him.

Satisfied that he was safe Lucky began the trek down. He was in desperate need of a drink since inhaling the smoke the taste of burnt grass was plaguing his tastebuds. He could smell fresh water close by and he made his way there. Each step taken with caution. On the way there he found a fresh carcass. Seemingly the creature had fallen from the steep cliff side that was the territory of his alpha female. Her scent was everywhere here. The smell of water drew closer and it took some effort to climb up the embankment to get there.

Finally he reached the top and found a beautiful oasis surrounded by mineral rocks clams and shellfish along with the bubbling sound of the spring pond that lay there. Drinking his fill he rested a short while before descending the oasis. He wasn't sure if the climb up or down was harder but the work was worth it. Heading out he moved around the territory line that Reina had laid. Making sure that he reinforced it so that others knew that it belonged to her.

He looks up from his territory marking when he caught the scent of a stranger within the territory line. He knew that he couldn't fight off a pack but he needed to check this out. What he found surprised him. It was a young female of adolescent age. He offered a soft call of reassurance that he meant her no harm. He followed her around for a long while as she explored and learned her way around. She seemed to be lost and unsure of what to do.
However he did his best to show her the ropes teaching her how to find food and what water was safe to drink.

Once she was comfortable with everything she parted ways from him. Leaving Reina's territory and disappeared into the thick forest. That night he slept in the lower part of Reina's territory. The sun had disappeared behind the trees and it was no longer safe to travel for him. Finding a sheltered cave he curled up alone and slept. Tonight was another peaceful night his breathing deep as he finally got the rest he so desperately needed.
