Lucky was released a couple days later close to the hotsprings so he would know where he was. He was a little loopy from the antibiotics they had given him though. So he rested in a well hidden area until he felt better. Once he felt ready he began to try and walk. There was something different he thought. He was sore but there was no sharp shooting pain. Wait...there's no pain!!! His eyes grew wide as he looked back at the hip that had caused him so much misery. There was a small line of stitches there and that was it.

He wanted to roar with happiness but he refrained from doing so. He was still not at 100 percent and he knew better than to draw attention to himself. He began to move determined to make it back to his territory. He was a long distance away from home. After a short while of traveling Lucky heard the familiar sounds of a sky-rat. He offered a soft call to alert the creature of his presence. He wouldn't mind having some company with his travels. The little bird was carrying a very large fish. Much too big for it to carry.

It seemed a bit over clumsy and could barely fly with such a large prey in its beak. After it at the floppy fish it tried to latch onto his side like most of them did. He allowed it there since it was his good side. The little creature seemed to know his other side was tender. They slept together in the cave that He had found on his first day there. The cave offered a sense of familiarness that Lucky craved.

The bond between the little bird and him also seemed to grow. Often times before drinking the little bird would inspect the waters before letting him come close. He had a funny way of stopping Lucky as well by landing in front of him and throwing up his wings. Once tit was deemed safe the bird would fly out and give him a friendly call.

Once they entered Reina's territory Lucky began to call out for her. Her scent was barely noticeable like she hadn't been around in long while. He was about to give up hope of seeing his chick or Reina again. He traveled throughout the territory with absolutely nothing but his new found friend.

Deciding to stop for the night they headed up to the oasis for a drink and sleep. He was dog tired and disappointed that he hadn't seen any signs of either of them. Once they arrived at the oasis Cranberry his little bird stopped him from getting closer to the water by throwing up his wings. Lucky watched him and stopped waiting patiently for the all clear. Finally his little bird breaks the surface of the water and gives him the all clear. Filling up on water the both of them they curled up together. Watching the sun go down the two of them fell fast asleep. Unaware of the little drone giving Lucky his meds.
