"I can't wait until this weekend!" Lanea's best friend Monique exclaims.

"It's gonna be poppin' cause there's gonna be a party, and we're invited!"

Lanea rolls her eyes. "Yeah, I guess so Mo."

"Oh my gosh we have to find something to wear!" Monique squealed.

Lanea and Monique have been best friends since the diaper years. They've laughed and cried together, and told each other everything no matter how dramatic. They were practically sisters, quite inseparable. Walking home from school on a hot Friday afternoon, Lanea listened to her friend babbling on and on about the weekend's upcoming events. Mo can talk. a lot. but that's just who she is Lanea won't change her for the world. When Lanea got home, her mom is sitting on the sofa reading a magazine.

"Hey mom how was your day?" Lanea asks, throwing her backpack and books on the couch then rushes into the kitchen.

"Hey sweetie, my day was busy as usual but good, how was yours?"

Lanea walked back into the living room with a cold water bottle. "It was fine, I had a test today. I'm pretty sure I passed it." She took a swig of water and continued. "Oh yeah, I'm going with Mo tonight, we might catch a movie or something."

"Alright have fun."

She noticed that her dad wasn't home yet but didn't really care. She grabbed her things off the couch and went into her room to do some homework. Lanea is a beautiful 17 year old young lady, and thanks to her mom's genes she's blessed with light brown skin, sort of like mocha, athletic body type, and long black kiny curly hair that flows down her back, and almond shaped hazel eyes. She's proud to be half black and half white. Later that evening while she was getting ready her cell phone rings. She glanced over to see who it was and its Monique.

"Hey girl, you ready?"

"Yeah, I'm just finishing up."

"okay cool, then meet me outside in 5."

"Alright girl bye."

"yeah."

She hangs up the phone then takes one last look into the mirror admiring herself . She's wearing a blue crop top, black ripped skinnies, blue and black Jordans and finger-less gloves. She idolized Ciara and could dance just like her. She finished up her make up and threw on huge sunglasses and hoop earrings to finish off her look and rushes out the door. "Mom I'm leaving!" she yells out locking the door behind her and heading out to the car. Monique jumps out of the car, hugs her friend grinning from ear to ear.

"Oh my gosh girl, you look so cute! I love it!"

"Thanks girl, you too." Monique's wearing a purple bra, leather jacket, skinny jeans and matching Jordans, her hair pulled into a pony tail. She was also a fan of Ciara. The girls giggled and got into the car. "Sean is going to take us to the party." Sean
is Monique's older brother, who's 18 and quite handsome. As Lanea settles into the car she finds his eyes fixed on hers as he closes her door and gets into the driver's seat. On the way there, she looks out of the window ignoring Monique talking nonsense about the party. But whenever she glances at the rear view mirror his beautiful green eyes meets her glance. She blushes and quickly turns her head to stare back out of the window.
