Chapter 3

We rushed to the hospital because of the text we received from Sabelle. She said she saw her mom unconscious and didn't know what to do. It's good that they have a kind neighbor and helped her get her mom to the hospital.

Her dad's at work and Sera and Chase are still on their honeymoon. And their maid left because she went grocery shopping.

"Kuya, si Mama." Iyak ng iyak si Sabelle at bakas sa mukha niya ang sobrang takot. Niyakap lang siya ni Shawn.

After 30 minutes ay lumabas na ang doctor na nag examine sa MIL ko. Agaran naman kaming lumapit dito.

"I'm her son, Doc. What happen to my mom?"

"I'm sorry but your mother's heart is weak. She needs rest and medications. You have to watch her carefully. She doesn't have heart disease, but because she's getting older, her heartbeat is getting weaker also. Maybe because she's stressed and thinking a lot lately. Let's avoid that and always check her mood."

"Thank you Doc."

Napaupo nalang kami bigla. Nagkasakit ba siya dahil kakaisip sa amin ni Shawn?

"Hun.." I called him.

"Hun, what will I do?"

"Do you want to go home so you can take care of her?"

"You know I don't want to but what can I do? Sera's on honeymoon and Sabelle's busy with her studies. Dad's always at work, I don't know what to do." Napayuko nalang siya.

"You can go home Hun. We're okay. Magpapasama nalang muna ako kay Celine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"I will go home when Sera comes home from honeymoon."

"Okay Hun."

I'm not that bad to not give Shawn his request. She's still his mother even though she did that to me. I still felt sorry that she had to get sick thinking about us and her son.

Three days later, my MIL was discharged from the hospital. Shawn's other things are also there because he will be staying with his family there first because Sera hasn't come home yet.

I'm starting to feel sad that Shawn isn't here at home but his mom needs him more now. I don't even talk to Shawn much anymore because he's focused on taking care of his mom, but when he has free time, he calls us.

"I miss you Hun. I miss our baby. How are you? It's been a week now, I'm super lonely without you."

I smiled. "We miss you too. Come back home soon."

"Of course! I love you---

"Shawn?"

Shawn stopped what he was saying because my MIL called him.

"Yes Ma?"

"Who are you talking to?"

"My wife, Ma."

"Finish that because I'm going to order you to massage me." Rinig kong sabi ng MIL ko. May sakit na't lahat pero hindi pa rin nagbabago.

"Okay Ma, susunod na ako. Ah Hun? Can I call you again after 15 minutes? Inuutusan ako ni Mama eh, it's that okay with you?"

Pilit akong ngumiti dahil alam ko na ang gustong gawin ng MIL ko.

"Sure Hun, I'll wait for you."

"Thank you Hun, I love you!"

"I love you too!"

But the 15 minutes he said didn't happen because I just fell asleep waiting for his call. I woke up at 7AM and I still haven't received anything from him. I let it go because he might be busy taking care of his mother.
