Chapter 2

Three years later, we just heard that Sera was getting married so Shawn could do nothing but reply to his mother's texts. They invited us to Sera's wedding.

"She's pregnant Hun." Sabi sakin ni Shawn.

"Good for her, ano daw plano nila?"

"Ang gusto ni Mama dun sila tumira sa bahay pagkatapos ng kasal nila."

"Okay lang ba sa kanila yun?"

"Di ko pa nakakausap si Sera. Hindi ko rin alam ang takbo ng utak ni Mama."

Sa tatlong taon na nakabukod kami masasabi kong naging masaya at maayos ang pagsasama namin ni Shawn dahil malayo na kami sa parents niya.

"Are you ready to face your mom?"

"A bit, ikaw ba?"

"Okay lang, 3 years na din naman."

Three months later Sera got married, she and Sabelle were very happy because we were able to attend. I looked at my in-laws, at least they tried to smile at me. Well, it's been three years.

"I missed you so much Kuya and Ate!" Sabelle nearly cried after seeing us.

"Nag vi-video call naman tayo ah?" Biro ko.

"But it's still different when we meet in person."

"ATE ELLIEEEE!!!!" Sera shouted.

"Wag ka ngang tumakbo jusko ka naman!"

"Namiss ko kayo! Ate Ellie, look at my baby bump!" Masayang masayang sabi niya.

I looked at her baby bump, siguro nasa 4 to 5 months na yung tiyan niya.

"Hindi mo na mamimiss si Jace kasi may sarili ka ng baby."

"No! Mamimiss ko pa rin si Jace, Ate!"

Nakita kong lumapit sa amin ang asawa ni Sera, I smiled at him. Sana hindi niya maranasan yung naranasan ko sa MIL namin.

"This is Chase, my husband. And Chase, this is my Kuya Shawn and Ate Ellie."

"Hi, it's nice to finally meet you Chase, take care of my sister-in-law."

"Of course, I will Ate. Nice to meet you Kuya."

"Oh cut the 'kuya' please hahahaha! Just call me bro or anything you want."

"Haha! Okay bro."

"And Chase, this is our cutie patootie, Jace. Ate Ellie and Kuya Shawn's son."

Ngumiti si Chase kay Jace at hinawakan ang ulo nito. Naninibago man si Jace pero ngumiti parin siya kay Chase.

Shawn's mother came and cried and hugged him as well as Jace. His father patted his shoulder. I'm happy to see them together again. Maybe if everything had gone well three years ago, we wouldn't have had to leave their house.

Shawn hugged his mother back while looking at me. I know the way he looks, maybe he's worried about me. It's been three years since we last saw his mother.

"How are you Shawn? I missed you so much!"

"I'm fine Ma, living my best life right now."

"I see. Hi Ellie." Sabi niya sakin. Pero alam kong napipilitan lang siya.

"Hi, Ma. It's been a while."

"Paanong hindi, inagaw mo na samin ang anak namin." His dad. Oh.

"Pa please." Buntong hininga ni Shawn.

"Not now Pa, it's my special day. Ngayon lang natin ulit nakita sila Kuya at ganito na naman kayo?"

What do I expect from her parents?
