Bloodline

Founding familys.

I've always loved founders party's, they made me a little sad because I've always wanted to be part of the founder family. I will say finding out that my family was so involved in 1864 has made it a little easier. Me and Bonnie are ging together because were the token single friends. I'm wearing a black slip dress and black heels. When I walk in I see Stefan and Elena together, and then Caroline and Damon. But what's most shocking is Tyler and Vicky. Im not jealous I'm mostly shocked because it's Tyler and Vicky. I knew they were hooking up but not enough for him to take him to a party at his parents house. Although by the ducking and weaving that he's avoiding his family. We stop at the exhibit of historical objects. There's objects donated by all the founding families. There's a picture of Stella Noyes and Emily Bennett. This is the first time I've ever seen my family mentioned at one of these and it makes me happy. I notice a list of signatures from the original founders party in 1864.
"Ruby look at this." Bonnie points to two names. Stefan and Damon Salvatore.
"Must be ancestors" i hesitate.
"Yea of course. Lets go find the girls." Bonnie agrees and takes off to the dance floor.
After a long exhausting night of heels I'm dreading having to walk home, I didn't wanna ask my grandpa to pick me up because he has night blindness.
I take my heels off and walk barefoot because the gravel feels better then these god damn heels. The one downfall of walking home alone in the dark, never mind there's a lot but the biggest one is how scary it is outside. So when I see a car following me I start to panic like any rational women wouldn't I start to calm down when i recognize the car and then panic all over again when I realize it's Tyler's car. He slows his car down next to me.
"Ruby." I try ignoring him but he's stubborn. "Ruby! It's dark out get in." I stop for a moment. While this is a terrible idea considering the last time, and how much champagne I've consumed. But it's exactly that reason I get in the car.
"Tyler."
"Ruby."
"I'm so-"
"I know you are." He interrupts.
"I miss you Ty." He sits in silence and pulls up to my house. "Thank you." I look at him for a second and then get out of the car. As I'm walking away he falls out to me.
"Wait Ruby."
"Yea?"
"Are we good."
I grin spreads across my face. "Of course Ty." and then I walk into my house. I'm about to pass out when my sleep is interrupted by a knock on my window. I open my window and see Elena sitting there, there's tears streaming down her face. "Come in come in." She grabs onto the ledge of the window and hoists herself up.
"Are you ok Lena?"
"Caroline is covered in bites and bruises and Stefan won't tell me anything about Damon who's obviously the one who hurt her. And he won't tell me anything. At all. Its so shady."
"Bites?"  She nods and wipes he's tears i just needed to talk to you. For the rest of the night she tells me everything about Stefan, and his ex Katherine who apparently died in a fire. She tells me that she swore he got slashed by that bottle which I saw too, but apparently there was no wound. Its all very shady. She ends up falling asleep in my bed and I fall asleep shortly after. I'm waiting for a way to tell her everything that's been going on with me but it's so apparent that she has her own life and stress to deal with I don't want to burden her.
My grandpa is confused when he sees Elena come out of my room the next morning, but he's happy to offer her a ride to school.
"You can borrow an outfit from me or you can run next door I don't mind either way."
"I don't wanna have to explain where I was to Jenna." Elena frowns.
"Take anything you want from my closet" I smile.
"Just let me know when you girls are ready." My grandpa gives a half smile. I'm lucky my grandpas never been strict because most parents, or guardians would not be chill with random teenagers spawning in the middle of the night.
"Thank you so much Dave." Elena smiles taking a brown lace tank top and a pair of flare jeans out of my closet. Elena has always been the closest to my grandfather, Bonnie is still a little awkward around him and when me and Caroline hang out it's usually at her house.
When we get to school we meet up with Bonnie, not expecting Caroline to be at school after last night. So I'm quite surprised when I see her waltzing around school handing out fliers and acting totally normal.
"Hey girls, are you guys working to sexy suds car wash" she winks and hands me a flier.
"Mmm probably not." I respond curtly.
"I'll be there." Elena smiles, and Bonnie nods agreeing with her.
"Ruby, it's settled you're working the car wash. Believe it or not you actually look really good in a two piece."
"Oh wow thanks Caroline." 
"You are wearing a two piece right."
"I guess so. I have that brown one."
"Ew absolutely not that ones hideous I have a black one you can wear."
"Caroline, how are you?"
"I'm fine. Go to go!"
"Okay at what the hell was that." Bonnie whispers to me and Elena as soon as Caroline walks off.
"I'm not sure but the bells about to ring." I shrug and walk to English.
