Daffodils Chapter 4

Chapter 4

I woke up in a hospital room.

"What happened?" I said.

"You're in the hospital." A voice said. It was Rain.

"What? Why?" I asked.

"Your uncle punched you in the face and you fell and your head hit the bottom corner of a door. Mike, you cracked your head open. You just got your stiches in tact." she said.

"Well... What are you doing here?" I asked.

"What do you mean 'What am I doing here?'"

"I thought we weren't talking anymore."

"Mike... I don't want to stop talking to you ever." she said.

"Just leave if you're going to upset me."

"In that case, I have some good news. I broke up with Johnny. You were right, he only did this for revenge." she said.

I was finally happy again. "That's great! Say, Rain, Would you like to be my girlfriend?"

"I thought you'd never ask."

She hugged me. It was awkward, because I was laying down in the hospital bed.

Then she moved her face, very close to mine, and we kissed. That was both of our first kisses. It was amazing.

A nurse walked into the room while we were in the middle of kissing.

"Oh that's nice!" she said sassily. The nurse was a heavy black woman. "Young love is the greatest! Now I gotta find me a man!"

We stopped kissing to laugh.

Then my phone rang... It was a California Area Code.

"Do you think?..." Rain started to say.

"I don't know!" I said excitedly.

I answered the call.

"Hello is this Michael Webber?" the man on the phone said.

"Yes it is." I said.

"Well good. I am a producer over at the X Factor USA and we reviewed your online audition and we just loved your personality."

"Put it on speaker." Rain whispered.

"Thank you." I said to the producer.

"Well anyway, we listened to your voice and it was one of the best voices we've heard. However, due to your last name we reviewed your submission last. Therefore, we need you to come to the Long Island Auditions and battle against another person who is in the same situation as you." He said.

"Yes! Definetely!" I said.

"Alright, see you April 16!" he said.

"You got it!" I said. He hung up.

"Oh my god!" Rain screamed, "I'm so happy for you! I knew you'd get in!"

"Well I'm not in yet, I have to battle against another person, then get passed more producers and get passes the real auditions..."

"Oh please! You know you got in!" Rain said, "You are meant for this!"

"Well if I do get in, then what do we do?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well I'm going to be away from you for a very long time." I said.

"Yeah, but we can text all of the time! We'll be fine!" she said.

"Do we stay together?" The question changed the mood of the room.

"Why not?" Rain said, "I mean it's not like we're going to be apart forever! Our love is strong enough to get passed that. Mike, you should stop thinking about that and get excited. You're going to be on the X Factor USA Season 3!"

I smiled. I was excited. I couldn't believe this was happening. yI couldn't be any happier. I had my first girlfriend, first kiss, and now I will be able to start my career in music.
