After the whole encounter with Sukuna he really started to make me question my own opinion on his character. Though it did also raise my suspicion even more.
Sukuna was always very set on his opinions and he was never swayed easily. He had always regarded me as a "waste" and "an annoying brat" that he had to deal with for the sake of Yuuji, but this new perspective was making me question each one of those past insults.
Sukuna was many things...but being a hypocrite?
Maybe.
I groaned as I made my way to my room and closed the door. Maki had made herself comfortable in my room once more and smiled slightly before it fell as she took in my appearance.
"Jesus, are you okay?" She asked sitting up and putting her phone down. I shook my head and flopped down groaning loudly as she laughed and looked me over.
"Someone got on your nerves?"
"More like I got on someone's nerves, I almoet got hit by a car and Sukuna saved me. Then proceeded to yell at me." I sighed turning over and laying face down towards my ceiling. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Maki shaking her head and letting out a small sigh.
"This is what..? The 3 time you randomly catch his attention? The first was at the Lawyer's office, the second at that restaurant he invited you to, and third this little incident."
I nodded and closed my eyes. "He's literally everywhere I go and it's freaking me out."
Maki chuckled and laid down next to me. "If it wasn't that he currently has a reason to hate you, I would say the man is looking for his next treat."
I shivered and rolled my eyes. "Gross, Sukuna would never look at me like that, and neither would I!" I argued before sitting up. I glanced over the small box sitting on my drawer. "I mention the keys again to him and honestly it freaked me out when he responded."
Maki glanced at me curiously before speaking. "What did he say?"
"Well it started with the reason as to why I was so distracted, albeit the incident was my fault for not paying attention but his because it was him who I was thinking about."
"I asked him why he seemed to always be near me and he said it wasn't because of the keys but because he actually finds me interesting."
Maki hummed before snapping her fingers.
"Bullshit."
"That's what I said!" I exclaimed before continuing. "And anyway then I told him about how he treated me as kids and he told me he regretted it. Now, he's insisting that I trust him and that he's not trying to be nice to me because of the keys, but because I am interesting to him."
I finished rambling and let go of a breath I didn't realize I was holding. "Too much?"
She laughed and shook her head. "For you? Maybe. But I can slightly see what he's trying to do."
She brought her hand to her chin and thought for a moment. "I think he's trying to get on your good side. Since you and him have known each other since childhood, his method is to try and make you forget all that stuff from the past and admire him now. Then convincing you to give him the keys and probably dump you into a ditch on the side of the road."
When she put it like that it did make sense. All these past days, Sukuna seemed to be doing nice things for me, then again his tone could use some work but his actions were...kind..?
Ew, Sukuna and Kind were not two words that went together.
I yawned slightly and laid back down. "I don't know...he's so confusing..and I've begun to realize I am too trusting—"
