A fine layer of dust settled over the battlefield. Perun's rowdy followers were slowly coming to as to what had happened. They acted like they were shaking off years of drugs. In a way they were, Perun's Encantment had made it incredibly hard to distinguish between the truth and fed lies. Keres, Kirin, and Felix were still huddled together, trying to mend the damage from the Hellbeasts poison. I ran over, hoping that they were alright. Kirin and Felix were the only family I had left.
"Kirin!" I hit the ground and took in the scene before me.
"It's quite bad," Felix stated while Keres performed spell after spell. "It was direct contact, with a great deal of poison as well."
"Lighten the mood instead of dampening it," Keres chided. "The kid has nothing but the two of you left. Try to keep the mood somewhat upbeat."
"I'm being realistic," Felix retorted. "It's no use in sugarcoating the plainly obvious." Small tears were forming in Felix's eyes.
"Let me help," a familiar voice stated.
"Get lost," Caspian's voice found its way to the centre of things as well. "We don't need your help."
"You might not want it, but I can save Kirin," I finally pegged the voice, Asami.
"How do we know you're not going to kill him?" Tsuki challenged, joining the party.
"I can finally see clearly," was all Asami had to say. "Reviving Tears." A flower bloomed over Kirin's head and a single drop of nectar fell from the flower and landed on Kirin's wound. A small light glowed and the wound healed itself and the effects of the poison nullified.
"What was that?" Kirin asked. "Magic like that has long since been eradicated."
"It was my father's gift. For his cold nature, he had a talent for medicine," Asami replied. Her voice had gone soft, not knowing what to feel and how to feel about it.
"I think we should let bygones be bygones," Felix declared, standing up. "This whole thing has been a bit of a mess with Perun's Encantment and everything."
"You can't just let Aeris and Asami go after everything!" Caspian cried out in protest. He wanted to see the person who had ruined things brought to justice.
"I'm not saying that there will not be repercussions," Felix began walking towards Asami. "However, we shouldn't dwell on the pain dealt. Wars happen, we have to find ways to move on, even if the pain is great." Caspian nodded, understanding what Felix was saying.
"I'm ready to face the consequences of my actions," Asami hung her head, ready for a death sentence.
"If you think we're going to convict you of treason we're not. Minors being convicted of treason is one of the worst things you can put on a kingdom's record," Kirin stated, walking over as well. "Thank you for saving my life. I think you will spend an extended period of time in Caiel."
"You'll work extensively on civil work projects," Felix seconded. There are quite a bit of changes needed in some of the biomes." Asami perked up when she realised she wasn't dying. "However, it does not detract from the things you have done."
"What are we talking about over here?" A cold voice weaselled its way through the crowd.
"Aeris, how opportune," Keres exclaimed happily. "We were just speaking about how to punish the pair of you." Aeris stopped dead in his tracks. "I think something a little more severe is in store for you." Aeris gulped, he was afraid. I could tell by the way he was clenching and unclenching his fists.
"What kind of punishment are we thinking?" Aeris pulled at the collar of his shirt.
"We think you deserve to spend an extended amount of time in a prison," Keres decided. "Or you could get sent to the rehabilitation centre that I went to. Endure what I had to endure. See if your mind doesn't become unhinged in every way shape or form."
