The next morning, Preeti woke up feeling completely tired from her restless night in the forest. As she slowly opened her eyes, she realized she was being held. Shocked, she discovered she was in Ajay's arms. "What the hell is going on?" she exclaimed, pushing him away. Ajay also woke up, equally surprised to find himself beside Preeti.

Preeti immediately confronted him, "What the hell are you trying to do? Is this the entire reason you kidnapped me?"

Ajay apologized, "I'm sorry." He seemed reluctant to say more.

Suddenly, a woman entered the room and greeted them, "Oh, you both woke up."

They both looked at the woman in confusion, unsure of the situation and what was happening. Then suddenly she explained, "We found you in the caves, so our men brought you here to make it easier for you to get out of this forest. Are you on a trip or something?"

Ajay wanted to say something, but Preeti interjected, "No, we were kidnapped and thrown into the middle of the forest," she explained.

"Oh my god, are you serious? Did that really happen to you?" the woman exclaimed, clearly shocked. She continued, "And are you two married, right?"

Preeti was about to speak, but Ajay quickly responded, "Yes, we are."

Preeti couldn't comprehend the situation. She didn't understand why Ajay was going along with this charade, especially since she didn't even know his name. "What the hell is going on?" she murmured to him, feeling bewildered.

"If you weren't married, they would have killed you," the woman clarified.

Preeti was taken aback. "Why?" she asked in confusion.

"Recently, we found an unmarried couple sitting in the same cave, which is considered unholy. They were burnt alive," the woman explained matter-of-factly.

"What the hell?" Preeti exclaimed in disbelief. "These people don't know how to live," she muttered to herself.

"Now get ready, we need to go to the panchayat. They will decide what to do with you," the woman instructed.

"What do you mean, what to do with us?" Ajay asked.

"Nothing will happen to you; you're a married couple," the woman assured them.

"Okay," Ajay replied.

Another man entered and escorted Ajay to another room. Meanwhile, the woman handed Preeti a saree to wear, and Preeti reluctantly put it on. As Preeti was getting ready, Ajay returned to the room.

The woman turned to Preeti and asked, "You're married, but why don't you have vermilion (sindoor) on your forehead?"

Preeti  was taken aback, unsure of how to respond. Before he could answer, Ajay jumped in, "We're a modern couple. Wearing all this traditional stuff is kind of boring for us. We have all the marriage certificates; we'll do all this during our functions," she explained with a smile.

"Nice acting," Ajay whispered to Preeti sarcastically.

"It's all because of you," Preeti murmured back to Ajay.

"Otherwise, we would be killed," Ajay added aloud.

"Thank you for doing one good thing on this entire journey," Preeti said sarcastically to the Ajay.

The woman then handed Ajay sindoor and said, "Please apply this to your wife."

"What, vermilion on my forehead? It's like a half marriage," Preeti complained to Ajay.

"Do you even care about this?" Ajay retorted.

"Yes, I do care," Preeti replied firmly.

As Ajay walked towards her, Preeti started to mutter, "Please don't do that. Please." She stepped back, clearly reluctant. The woman beside them seemed puzzled. "Why? Don't you want this? Aren't you married?" she questioned.

Ajay assured her, "No, we are married." With that, he applied sindoor (vermilion) on Preeti's forehead. She stood there, unable to speak, visibly stunned by the sudden turn of events.

"Come on, let's go to the panchayat," the woman said, ushering them forward.

Preeti shot Ajay a look of disbelief. "Mister, I told you that all my love goes to my husband. But you've officially married me," she said, her tone accusing.

"Just remove it," Ajay said abruptly, feeling the weight of the situation.

"Are you serious?" Preeti retorted, clearly upset.

"Okay, fine. I am freaking serious. Why would you think I did this when I clearly didn't want it to happen?" Ajay explained, frustrated by the misunderstanding.

The entire village head spoke up, addressing the gathered villagers. "Where did you find these two people?" he asked the men who brought Ajay and Preeti.

"We found them in a nearby cave," one of the men replied.

"Are you married?" the village head asked Preeti and Ajay.

Preeti responded quickly, "Yes," while Ajay simply nodded.

"Okay then, if you are married, marry again," the village head commanded, surprising Preeti.

"But we are already married," she protested, her eyes widening in disbelief.

The village head seemed momentarily at a loss for words before asserting, "I am ordering this to happen as the village head. Tell them what happened to the previous couple who lied about being married."

At that moment, the woman who had assisted them earlier stepped forward and explained, "That couple claimed they were married, but they were not. When asked to get married again, they refused. As a result, they were killed."

Preeti was utterly shocked, trying to process the gravity of the situation. Meanwhile, Ajay spoke up, "Okay, we are ready to get married."

Preeti stood there, frozen and uncertain. She couldn't comprehend what Ajay was trying to prove or achieve in this perplexing scenario. The seriousness of their predicament weighed heavily on her mind as she struggled to find her voice amidst the unfolding events.
