Ajay's commanding tone left Preeti feeling trapped as he instructed Abhishek to initiate the official marriage procedures. Preeti stood there, her mind racing with uncertainty. A maid approached Preeti, offering assistance.
"Madam, how can I assist you? Please let me know how you'd like to prepare," the maid said.
Preeti managed a weak smile. "I don't know, just help me get ready," she replied quickly.
The maid nodded, sensing Preeti's uneasiness. "Of course, madam, we'll make sure you look perfect," she assured, guiding Preeti to a nearby room. Meanwhile, Ajay disappeared upstairs, leaving Preeti to navigate the preparations on her own. As the minutes ticked by, Preeti tried to compose herself.
In the room, the maid busied herself with Preeti's attire. It was a western outfit, not too traditional, not too modern. Preeti's mind was consumed with one question: how could she escape this situation?
Ajay came back and said you look a solid 4 in this outfit , In the tense atmosphere, Preeti shot Ajay a look of annoyance. "Look, Mr. Nosy, I don't need fashion advice from you," she replied sharply.
Ajay raised an eyebrow, a smirk still playing on his lips. "Mr. Nosy, huh? At least tell me your name first," he quipped back.
Preeti hesitated, contemplating whether to respond. "Fine, it's Preeti," she finally admitted.
Ajay grinned, satisfied to learn her name. "Preeti, huh? Nice name," he remarked casually.
Preeti watched curiously as Ajay received a call from Abhishek. She observed his expressions, trying to gauge what was happening. Suddenly, Ajay abruptly ended the call, leaving Preeti wondering about the conversation's content and its implications.
Preeti observed Ajay with growing apprehension as he informed her they were heading to the business office. Confused and alarmed, she demanded to know his intentions.
"Going where?" Preeti questioned in complete confusion.
"To the business office," Ajay replied.
"Why? What are you going to do there?" she asked, her worry apparent.
"To make our marriage official," he stated plainly.
"I am not accepting this marriage," Preeti asserted.
"Do you think you have any other option, babe?" Ajay retorted, his tone sharp, as he moved a gun along her jawline.
"Do you think what you're doing is right?" Preeti challenged.
"Right or wrong, I'm claiming what's mine," Ajay declared.
Preeti couldn't help but sigh. But her mind, her thoughts, her everything, were only focused on how to escape from this place.
After five minutes, the car arrived. They both got in, and despite sitting next to him for two hours, her heart raced as she sat beside him again. Ajay was dressed in a black shirt and black pants, while Preeti wore a black kurta and jeans, looking super hot. Preeti was nervous about becoming officially married; the documents would show she was a married woman, but she didn't want to stay there. She was making plans on how to escape. Suddenly, she got an idea and decided to go with it.
"Mr. Nosy," she called out to him. He glared at her.
"Okay, fine. Sorry. I want to ask you something," she said.
He looked intrigued. "Can I work after our marriage? Like, starting tomorrow?" she asked.
"What if I say no? Don't be that toxic husband," she said, looking at him.
"Did you see how much wealth I have? Did you see my palace? You've seen it, right? How shameful it would be for me to find out that my wife is working in some ordinary company," he replied with a smirk that never left his face.
"Please, please, please," she pleaded.
"Mhm" he said.
After the official procedures were completed, Preeti suddenly said, "Just a minute, I need to go to the restroom." Ajay, appearing indifferent, responded, "Hurry up then, we don't have all day."
As Preeti stepped out of the office, Ajay waited impatiently, checking his phone with a slight frown. Preeti quickly approached a nearby staff member. "Excuse me, where's the nearest exit?" she asked urgently. The staff member pointed down the hallway, and Preeti nodded, trying to remain composed.
Meanwhile, Ajay glanced up, noticing Preeti's absence. "What's taking her so long?" he muttered, tapping his foot irritably.
Preeti glanced back cautiously, checking to see if Ajay was occupied. "I can't mess this up," she thought, her heart racing as she moved swiftly toward the exit.
Ajay finally noticed Preeti's absence and frowned. "She's been gone a while. I hope she's okay," he said under his breath, glancing toward the restroom.
Preeti reached the exit, taking a deep breath before slipping out quietly. She hurried down the hallway, praying that her escape plan would work.
Before Ajay could realize it, Preeti had already slipped away. She hurried to the main road and flagged down a passing rickshaw. "Bhaiya, take me to ABCD colony," she urged, realizing she had no money on her. The auto driver agreed but insisted on 200 rupees for the fare.
"Kya? 200? That's too much for such a short distance," Preeti argued, trying to negotiate a lower price. After a heated exchange, they finally settled on a fare, and the rickshaw sped off towards the colony.
Upon reaching her destination, the auto driver demanded the agreed-upon fare. "Kitna?" Preeti asked, pretending not to understand. The driver repeated the amount, and Preeti continued to haggle, insisting it was too high.
Meanwhile, Preeti spotted her friend Shreya and called out to her. "Shreya!" she yelled, relieved to see her friend. Shreya rushed over, equally relieved to find Preeti safe. "Dear, you have no idea how worried I was," Shreya exclaimed.
Preeti quickly asked Shreya to pay the rickshaw fare. "Pay this guy his money," she instructed, eager to head back to their room. Shreya handed over the fare, and Preeti thanked her before they both headed towards their room.
