The handsome villain

He was the most handsome man she had laid her eyes on. His golden hair and intense eyes made him stand out.

But what somehow bothered her was his eyes. They were extremely beautiful yet so lifeless.

He was looking at her yet he seemed so distant. Not an ounce of warmth could be found there.

He seemed more bored than her. She was hoping that he was the prince her mother was talking about.

"Where are you lost? Look at me. Let me see if anything is out of place or not. You have to look perfect. The prince likes proper ladies. He's about to arrive here soon," her mother said, coming out of nowhere.

Endora's heart flipped.

"About to arrive here soon? So, he's not the one."

She didn't like this. She was hoping that the prince won't like her and that, she could win the heart of that beautiful angel.

"He's here. Smile," her mother said, pulling her lips in a smile.

Endora looked in the same direction her mother was looking. The prince was indeed handsome.

Had Endora not seen the other guy, she would have said that the prince was the most handsome guy she had ever seen till now.

The prince had the beauty that would make one breathless but that unknown guy's beauty was another thing.

You can't decide whether you want to continue to look at his face the whole day or look away and never meet his gaze again.

The prince was meeting everyone, one after another with a huge smile plastered on his face but it looked artificial.

Endora couldn't judge him for faking excitement since nobody could truly be happy in such an environment.

She looked around to find everyone smiling but it was the most boring place she had ever been to.

She again looked at the guy from earlier and now, he was simply sipping on his drink.

He didn't bother talking to anyone and neither anyone tried to talk to him.

He seemed... unapproachable.

It's as if everyone was afraid of talking to him. She wanted to talk to him though.

She was curious about his voice, about his smile.

"He doesn't seem to have any smile lines. Did he never smile in his whole life? If someone dances with their tongue out and hands flowing in the air, would he smile?" She chuckled at her thought.

It's as if the universe wanted to make her embarrassed. Just when she chuckled, everyone stopped talking and all of the eyes were now on her.

They were clearly judging her. Turned out, she laughed a little bit too hard at her inner joke.

And to make things worse, she was standing there alone. Even her mother was talking to another woman.

If they were to label her as a madwoman, she wouldn't find this weird.

She looked in her mother's direction who was looking at her with widened eyes.

She remembered her saying that the prince likes a proper lady and unintentionally, she ended up saying 'sh*t'. It was a habit.

And now her mother looked like she was about to faint. Endora started to panic and this time, she ended up saying 'f*ck.'

And her mother puts her hand on her chest. She was about to have a heart attack.

Endora realized that everyone was still looking at her. She hurriedly apologized by half-bowing.

Her movements were too fast and despite looking sincere, it was unladylike.

Everyone finally looked away and her mother walked towards her.

She looked at that angel and now, he was looking at her with great interest. She could feel pride rising in her heart.

Proud of the fact that she managed to get a reaction out of him.

"What was that just now? Do you want to ruin everything?" Her mother hissed while maintaining a smile on her face.

Endora couldn't help but be impressed by her mother's acting skills.

"I am sorry. This won't happen again."

"It better not. I am going to socialize with the others. You better behave yourself or God help me," and she left.

"Phew, my mother is scary. I should probably see around," Endora said while looking here and there.

Her eyes fell on a mirror and her world came crashing down. That was not her face in the mirror. It was someone else.

This girl indeed had the same eyes and hair as her but that's not her. She touched her face to confirm whether she was seeing herself or someone else but her confusion got clear when she realized that it was indeed her as the girl in the mirror was touching her face as well.

And she did what can land her mother in a hospital. She screamed.

And once again, the attention was on her but this time, she couldn't bring herself to care.

Her mother instantly stood by her side.

"What happened? Why are you shouting?"

"What have you done? Why did you change my face?" She was looking at her mother with so much anger that her mother was almost scared.

"What nonsense is that? Why would I change your face? You have always been like that!"

"What do you mean? Wait, what's my name?"

"God no, please no," she was praying in her mind.

"Endora Volkov."

And Endora passed away. When she opened her eyes, the first face that came before her eyes was her mother's.

But instead of looking at her with concern, she looked like she was about to murder her.

"And that's the girl father wants you to marry? God must really love you to give you this crazy woman as your would-be wife," a silky and smooth voice with poisonous words came to her ears.

"Who said that I am going to marry her? I am not going to ruin my precious life and image. She can marry whoever she wants to but that definitely isn't going to be me," another voice came which sounded familiar.

Endora snapped her head in that direction and the crown prince was standing there with her 'oh-so-beautiful angel' who was now smirking.

Endora's mother fainted.

"Seems like they have a family history of fainting," he said and that's when Endora decided that she hates him.

Wait, she has always hated him. How could she not when he was the villain of the book that she was reading in the library?
