It was late. Too late. The night was still and quiet inside the house, the only noise being heard was the faint chatter of chirping crickets and croaking frogs outside the windows. But, that silence was interrupted with the TV in the livingroom flicking to life and filled the room with crackling white noise while the screen flashed static... until a black figure slipped his arms out the glass like it wasn't there and gripped the framed of the box TV, pushing and grabbing at it until his body thrusted out of the tight space and he flipped out and landed on his back with a loud thump and groan. He'd give himself some time to recover before slowly standing up from the wooden floor and gazed at the lifeless and dark living room, noticing how the only light that was visible in the main room was the dim moonlight, which draped across the corners of the cozy furniture and fancy decor from the big windows on the left side of the den.

The home itself resided a few members: the figure himself, his boss, a cat, and a few other alternates that needed a place to stay. The figure - Six - was civil when it came towards sharing his "nest" with others of his species because of how many extra rooms there were. After all, they didn't stay for long, and he expected for the other alternates to stay for only a few months before going loose in the wild again. So, it was win for him.

Six used his hands to brush off any debris that got on himself from his fall before pressing the button on the TV to turn it back off, heading off to his bedroom in a sluggish manner right after. His feet would drag behind him while his feet clumped against the floor in heavy steps, his shoulders slouched and hunched over as he pulled his body out to the side hallway that connected the kitchen and laundry room and up the staircase. While he stomped up the stairs, his eyes would glance at the few pictures that patterned the stairway to showcase a family of five - plus extra. What a big family. Wonder how stressful they were.

Eventually, he made it up to the top of the steps and huffed, barely dodging letting out a loud yawn by muting it with his sleeve, and scratched at his stubble while he crept down the hall to his own bedroom. That was until he noticed his boss's bedroom door that was left slightly ajar, lighting up a different door with a line of golden light from a lamp inside the open bedroom. Shit.

Six swallowed a lump that started to form in his throat, his fingers twitching slightly as he was able to tell that the person inside has been waiting for him for awhile just by the feeling of the atmosphere. Forcing to hide his tiredness so he can be able to talk to his boss, he rubbed his eyes so he seemed more awake and entered the bedroom.

Upon entering, Six spotted the angelic-like figure sitting crisscross on the carpeted floor with Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet in hand. He closed the book with one hand once he noticed the man enter the room, using his middle finger as a book stopper because of the way he had been holding his book originally. Gabriel - his boss - was always odd when it came to the simplest of tasks.

"You're late." Was the first thing he said. No greeting, like per usual, and no smile. Just a blank and stern expression, like one a disappointed father would give.

"I know," Six replied flatly, rolling his eyes slightly in response to the obvious situation.

"And why is that?"

"I was out doing my tasks like asked," He sighed softly, going on to continue cause he knew that Gabriek wouldn't just take that, "I just... took awhile because it was harder to get anybody today."

"It's been hard for anyone to get anybody." Gabriel added, then slowly stood up from his spot on the floor with no support and walked off to search the dresser for something. "The humans have been smarter and trickier, finding easier tactics to avoid us. But they're stupid to think they're that safe."

Eventually, he pulled out a pair of white panties from the drawer and recoiled, dropping it back inside and closing the drawer. Then, took a deep inhale after to recollect himself. "You need to get rid of these motal fabrics, Six. They're unnecessary and take up space."
