Finn

It's like there's not a single sound around us as we all stare at Stasia in complete and utter disbelief.

For a moment I wonder if I misheard Alexi, if my ears didn't quite catch what he said properly because I'm pretty sure he just said that she has a fucking daughter. That little girl in there is her daughter but that can't be right.

She would have told us.

Surely she wouldn't have kept something like that from us.

But as she silently trembles in Hugh's hold with tears streaming down her face she doesn't deny the allegation. She doesn't accuse her brother of lying. Nope instead she stares at Hugh with nothing other than guilt written all over her face.

It's true.

"Stas what's he going on about?" I ask still kind of in disbelief about it, or not really wanting to accept that she's kept something like this from her.

But just like with Hugh she just stares at me as if she's unable to say anything.

Unable to tell the fucking truth, and I can't help but wonder what else she's lied about.

"I take it you didn't know" Alexi says and I suddenly remember that he's standing here with us.

"No we didn't fucking know" Hugh grits out and I see the way his grip on Stasia's arms tighten causing her to whimper.

He's hurting her and I'm unsure if he's even aware of it or if he's doing it intentionally but I step forward and shake him slightly to get him to let go.

"You're hurting her man" I say hoping to snap him out of it but he doesn't even seem to register me at all.

He's in full tunnel vision mode, his whole focus on Stasia.

"I- I can explain" she finally stutters out. "Ow Hugh you're hurting me" she then whimpers and that's it me and Cian clearly both feel the same or are thinking the same thing because he steps up to Hugh's other side and we both pry his fingers of her arms.

He staggers back his fists curling at his sides but his gaze still furiously pinned on her. "Get her out of my fucking sight" he sneers, his tone full of distain and disgust, and I see how that crashes through Stasia. "Now!" he then shouts and it causes her to flinch.

"I didn't know how to tell you, I didn't know what to say" she says her voice wobbling with every word and she goes to step towards him but he shakes his head and turns to head off in the other direction.

Her body shudders with a sob as his rejection seems to hit her full force and Cian instantly pulls her into his arms to comfort her. He doesn't seem angry, he seems a lot like me. More confused and baffled than angry but he's definitely handling it a lot better than I am because he doesn't look as if he's feeling so betrayed which is definitely an emotion I'm feeling ten fold right now.

Or maybe he's concealing his anger for her sake I don't know.

"Just get her home" Blake says to me and doesn't even look at Stasia as he goes to head in the same direction at Hugh but Alexi stops him.

"We need to talk" he says and his eyes flash up to Stasia where she sobs in Cian's arms.

Blake looks from Alexi to Stasia and then to me and then he snaps. "Just fucking take her home Finn" leaving absolutely no room for argument.

———

The whole way back to the house Stasia just wept in Cian's arms occasionally whimpering that she was sorry, but other than that she didn't say anything. Not about Natalia, about the fact she's kept it from us. Nothing.

She just cried.

And unlike Cian I couldn't bring myself to comfort her. All I did was stare at her wondering what else she's lied about, whether it's all been a lie from the start just like Hugh thought it was. Whether she ever would have told us or kept it a secret from us forever.

Even once we got back to the house Cian comforted her, telling her everything was going to be okay and attempted to get her too settle down right up until she cried herself to sleep and again the whole time I just sat there staring at her.

Like I am now whilst she sleeps with her head rested in Cian's lap and he gently strokes her hair.

"We don't know anything yet" He says quietly and my eyes snap up to him. "We don't know why she didn't tell us or what even happened so don't be a dick about it"

I guess he's right we don't know anything but that's only because she's been keeping it from us this whole time. She told us about Damien and Daniil, so why didn't she tell us about Natalia. When had she even had her? None of it makes any sense and I know that means that there's a part of what she's told us that's a lie.

"She's been lying to us" I point out and his nostrils flare straight away.

"We don't know that she's lied, she just hasn't told us everything and can you blame her?" he says clearly trying to reason with me but right now I can't listen to reason until I know the truth. If I can believe what she says is the truth anymore.

Fuck as I look at her I feel like my heart is being ripped straight out of my chest at the possibility that everything has been a lie. I've fucking fallen in love with her big time, I can't even attempt to deny it and I haven't even had a chance to tell her. Now this.

I rest my head back against the chair and rub my hand down my face.

Fuck
