"Let go of me, you thundercunt!" I scream.
Two guys are dragging me through the hallway, pulling me by my armpits. Do you have any idea how much that fucking hurts? One of them starts laughing, a sound that lights a fire inside of me "thundercunt, good one." The other man glares at him and the laughter quickly dies.
I kick and squirm, throwing myself around trying to get out of their grip. "Where are you taking me! Hey, assholes!" They keep looking forward, not even paying attention to me. I hear the creaking of doors, and suddenly I'm thrown forward, skidding across the concrete floor until I come to a sharp stop. I slowly glance up, my arms and legs burning where the skin was ripped off. Blood pricks in the wounds, but I'm more focused on the man sitting at a desk in front of me. "You mother fucker." I scowl.
"Now now Octavia, we're all friends, aren't we?" Felix chuckles.
"Go to hell." I spit, reaching for my knife. My hand grabs nothing but air, and I realise a little too late that it's been taken from me.
"Looking for something?" Felix grins, reaching behind his desk and pulling out my weapons. Swords, knives, even the ones I had hidden in my boot. Did this creep frisk me? I lunge forward to grab my weapons. The guard behind me is a second faster. He grabs the back of my head, clutching a fistfull of my hair and pulling me backwards. My hands grip onto my hair just below my scalp and I let out a sharp yelp of pain. "I really thought you were smarter than that. I mean, come on."
"What do you want from me?"
"I want you to be our spy."
"Why the hell would I do that for you, you piece of shit?"
"It's simple really. I know about your little crush, the human boy. What's his name? Blake?"
"Are you threatening me?" My heart was beating in my throat.
"I'm proposing a deal. You do what I want, the human can get high in peace, not pieces." I wanted to rip out his throat. I wanted to scream out and kill everyone in the room, especially the guy pulling a little too hard on my hair. Instead, I did nothing.
"Don't hurt him." My voice is quiet, barely audible.
"Well it looks like we have a deal. Am I correct?" I don't say anything. I don't need to, he already knows. He nods, my silence confirmation. The guards let go of me and I stand, Felix hands me my weapons and I seath them. All the urge to hurt is gone. "It's good to know we are on the same side now."
"I won't ever be on your side. I'm doing this for him." Felix smiles, that same smile that makes me want to vomit and punch him at the same time.
"Run along now, little bunny. You have a funeral to attend." My eyes widen and I step back. I saw, but I didn't think he would be killed. Not Nico. Not my little Nico. I didn't let myself cry, instead I turned and ran. Ran as fast as I could back towards my people. To the people I needed to betray.
Phoenix POV
We all stand around the coffin and listen to Ryder. No one spoke, we all were silent. A lot of people were crying, even I had a few tears in my eyes. I look up at Ryder and see him as collected as ever. The only sign of emotion was a darkness hovering around him, his jaw was clenched tighter than usual and his shoulders a little bit lower.
"Nico will always be well remembered, he was a great man; even when times were serious, he would crack a joke. Nico was one of the most annoying but also the most loyal man I know." He pauses for a second and I hear sniffling from behind me. "I will miss you, little man." Ryder turns to Nico's coffin and places his skull ring, one of his favourite rings, onto the coffin.
We all fell quiet, our thoughts running through our heads. The silence was interrupted. "No!" I hear a voice from behind us, "Not Nico! Please. Not him."
Octavia shoves her way through the crowd, everyone in shock to see her. The gang moves around her as she runs towards the front. "Octavia?" Ryder steps forward, mouth open slightly.
"Ryder, tell me that this is some sort of sick joke, please!" Watching her like that makes my heart shatter. Ryder says nothing and more tears stream down her face and she collapses. I am at her side before she can hit the ground, we slide down together. She presses her face into me, gripping onto my shirt as she lets out a wail that echoes through the building. It felt like an eternity, but all I could do was hold her.
