Adams pov
I stood outside the office of justice minister Sera, contemplating whether or not I should go in. I hesitated before knocking on the door. Fuck it, I need help.
"Come in" I heard her call. I headed inside to see the justice minister at her desk with her young daughter Emily sitting on top.
"Hi Mr Adam" she waved excitedly. Like her mother she had long black hair that spiked a little around the edges with blue eyes and freckles. She was cute as a button.
"Hey kiddo" I smiled at her.
"Is there something I can help you with Adam?" Sera asked.
"Yeah I need some advice" I scratched the back of my head.
"Oh? You need my help" she smirked.
"Yeah I do" I glared at her smug attitude "You know I'm not good at this touchy feely shi-stuff"
"Okay what's your problem?" She gave me her full attention.
"It's about lute" I stared at my hands nervously "she makes me feel all funny. I mean she's just so cool. Every time she's near me my heart beats really fast and-"
"Mr Adam you're in love!" Emily's eyes lit up.
"No I'm not!" I yelled as my face turned red.
"No I think Emily's right" sera scooped her up with a smile "I think you might've taken the who partner thing a little too seriously"
"Tch" I looked away, trying to rub the red out of my cheeks.
"Adam if you like this girl you should try asking her out"
"No!" I said firmly "if I commit to her I'll just end up getting hurt"
"Adam" her tone softened "what happened with Lilith isn't likely to happen with lute"
"I don't want to take the risk!" I rushed out before she could stop me. Fuck. Why does this have to be so complicated!
