Days gone by (a KOTLC Wylinh story)

Part 9: Will you?

                                                                                       Wylie POV:

   Wylie straightened his tie, he was taking Linh out on a surprise date, she didn't know where they were going.

  He and Linh had just gone back into their interesting situationship. Linh had said no when he asked her to be his girlfriend so he wasn't sure if he should ask again. But he wanted too, he wondered why she had said no but then continued all of the dates and such with him. They hadn't kissed since the garden at the hospital. Was that a sign? Maybe he shouldn't be with her? Had she only said no because of what had happened that day?

     With her recently curled hair and short flowy dress, she knew she looked nice but she hadn't been aware that she looked that nice. She was waiting for Wylie in a cafe, and he was going to take her somewhere as a surprise, but already, just sitting here waiting for Wylie, five men had come up to her and asked for her name so they could contact her on their imparters.

  Linh had politely declined each time, she wasn't looking for another romance, she just wished that Wylie would hurry up and ask her to be his girlfriend already, then she could tell the men that she was dating.

 But That Night, as the reason why she couldn't. If only she had been less prideful and protective at that moment. Yes, Wylie had abandoned her, but he was working and just mixed up the dates. It truly wasn't his fault in that case.

A dark haired elf with deep sky blue eyes came up to her. "Excuse me miss, Could I get you name?"

 Then Wylie walked up. "So sorry Mister, but that's my girlfriend you're talking to."

"Oh excuse me." The man walked away grumbling.

 "Since when are we dating? Like officially?" Linh whispered.

 "Do you not want to be?" Wylie asked her.

  "No no, I do, but shouldn't you ask me, like in a more formal way, instead of just telling people we're dating?"Linh was confused.

 "Don't worry." Wylie said, pulling out a pathfinder.

 "Wha.." Linh started to say, but Wylie had already moved it to the facet he wanted and disappeared with her, into the light.

Linh and Wylie reappeared by a big willow tree, underneath was a small picnic table set with food and flowers. 

 "Wow." She said in amazement. "You did this for me."

 "Yep, sure did." Wylie led her to the table. 

 Together they laughed and talked. The food was delicious and tart. 

 Suddenly Wylie got up from the table and took Linh's hand in his own.

 "Linh, you are the most radiant person I've ever met, without any doubt, you are smart, kind, loyal and brave. You kept me company while I was sick and I hope to never ever have to spend a day without you at least as my friend, Linh will you be my girlfriend." Wylie asked tentatively.

 Linh froze, this was exactly what she wanted. "Wylie, of course, a thousand times yes!"

 Wylie smiled and hugged Linh, they sat together watching the sunset through the willow trees.
