The morning begins to shine brightly over us making this almost a picture perfect happing ending.

We walk into the aircraft prepping for the final task, the rest of the crew seem to be okay. Nadia was the only one that was injured, nothing too serious. (Y/n) walks in taking a seat and buckling in, Chris passes me with glance with a smirk. I ignore him and head over to a seat nearest a window with the best view.

We all strap ourselves in and moments later the aircraft begins to ascend, Chris and Rebecca set up the vaccine to be spread into the air. They return to their seats and converse about the plan where to fly over the locations that infected the most civilians.

I look out the nearest window beside me seeing the city, soon it'll return to normal and a cover up will be all over the news keeping things in the dark. As it always has been. Things will always be the same, it'll be a while before someone decides they want to see the world on fire.

(Y/n) sits beside me derailing my train of thought, I didn't even notice her until now. She doesn't say a word and straps herself to the seat beside me, she adjusts position and leans next to me resting her head on my shoulder. I make myself comfortable fully embracing this. I glance over to Rebecca and Chris and they were still chatting to themselves. I rest my head on the wall behind me resting my eyes for a moment.

(Leon)- "When I was a kid, I never thought my life would turn out this way." She raises her head slightly to view me but I kept my eyes closed.

(Y/n)- "Neither did I, but I'm happy it did." I chuckle in my throat. Her answer amuses me. She shouldn't be happy to be involved in any of this. I'm lucky enough to have met a woman like her but she shouldn't be here. She should be out there living her normal life she was lucky enough to have, something I wish I had instead of all of this. I don't regret the choices I've made but sometimes it gets morbid and too dark that I lose sight in certain things.

I was lost this time.

I can admit that I'm glad Chris brought her along, I would have stayed hidden in the dark much longer if she hadn't come around.

(Y/n)- "So, what now?" I reopen my eyes and she's still on my shoulder possibly refusing to look me in the eyes, I'm guessing she doesn't want to see my expression waiting for a rejection from me.

Not this time.

(Leon)- "Heh." I chuckle again.

(Rebecca)- "And once again, we find ourselves back where we started." She says aloud.

(Leon)-"What do you mean?"

(Rebecca)- "We got the bad guys. Hope we made the world a little safer." She says as she shrugs her shoulders.

(Y/n)- "There's always going to be someone out there trying to set the world on fire." I grin slightly, almost like she was in my head earlier.

(Rebecca)-"Like I said, a little safer." She sighs with a smile. A few moments of silence passes, I look towards Chris who looks like he's recharged and ready for the next battle.

(Leon)- "Hey, Chris."

(Chris)- "Yeah?"

(Leon)- "How much longer can we keep going on like this?"

(Chris)- " I don't know. I never make plans that far ahead." We exchange grins. I look down at (Y/n) seeing her fast asleep still on my shoulder.

As minutes pass we sat here in silence watching the vaccine do its work, Rebecca unbuckles her seatbelt and heads over to the cockpit. Chris leans forward resting his elbows on his knees, he looks towards (Y/n) and I.
