The day of Jisung's performance has finally come. I promised him I'd be here, and here I am, on a hot Sunday afternoon with all eight of my friends.

"This feels like a music festival." Yeona comments.

When we all met up at the location, an outdoor park with a small stage set up in the middle, there were already many people. This is apparently a public event that was heavily promoted in order to garner a large audience, which it did, because these are young teenagers who are performing live songs they wrote all by themselves. But although all these people are present, Jisung is nowhere to be seen.

"I've heard of this contest before but I think this is the first time they're doing this outdoor performance for it." Chan explains. He's also here because he wouldn't miss his friend's prize-winning composition for the world.

"We should get closer to the stage so that we can see Jisung better."

There is already a thin layer of people occupying the nearest spots to the stage, but we join the crowd, excited to see Jisung and all the others who will soon be performing.

"YOU'RE ALL HERE!"

Out of nowhere, the boy we've all been thinking about shows up, running to our group with arms spread wide open. He's wearing black pants with a belt, a black shirt layered under a grey jacket, the thick material probably too hot for the weather today, and a bunch of accessories. He looks like an idol.

"Oh, they told us we should be creative and put together a stage outfit

"Oh, they told us we should be creative and put together a stage outfit." Jisung explains after noticing us staring at his clothing choices, "does it look stylish?"

"Yes." Jeongin says, and I nod in agreement.

"You look old." Changbin teases.

"Not as old as this guy," Seungmin nudges Chan, who tries to hide his wails with a smile, sick and tired of Seungmin's "Chan is old" jokes.

"I'm so glad you could all come," Jisung chirps, already waving his hands around in excitement. "I can't wait, I'm so hyped up. I think I have to go get ready now, it starts in ten minutes! Have fun!"

Jisung runs off just like that, before we barely had a chance to talk to him. So now, all we can do is wait the remaining ten minutes. As we talk to pass the time, more people join the crowd and finally, a woman appears on the stage with a microphone in her hand and a bright smile on her face.

"Welcome, everyone! Wow, there are so many people! Thank you all for coming to the first ever performance event for the South Korea composition contest! This year, ten young producers under the age of eighteen were nominated out of many, many applicants, and they will finally get to perform their unique pieces in front of us all today, here in the center of Seoul. Who's excited?"

Almost the entire crowd cheers, noises of enthusiasm coming out loud and clear.

"Thank you once again for coming, your support means everything. Now, let's finally get this show started with our very first performer!"
