Camera shows a left side profile of Elias running with the guard following behind.
As they round a corner, they see a load of other guards having gathered in the hall to block them. Elias sees Haden behind them take a turn about halfway through this hall into one that leads deeper into the overall structure.
Elias stops running before they reach the guards, who don't budge, swords drawn. To him, getting too close right now is a death sentence. At the front of this hostile pack is an old man, Heartfelt, captain of the guard.
Captain Heartfelt
And do you think you are?!
He points his blade towards Elias.
Captain Heartfelt
Traitor... How dare you wear those colors! That armor! You don't deserve it.
Elias draws his own sword in case stuff gets crazy.
Elias
(Reasoning)
I'm not here to fight the guard. I am here to remove a usurper. Do your men know that, by the way?
He looks at the guards that stand behind the captain.
Elias
This "king" got his position through deceit. He is the reason that King Phosphorus is in the ground right now. And he tricked Princess River into trusting him.
He says this with a smirk.
Captain Heartfelt
Don't listen to him, men. He's a liar if ever there was one.
Elias
(Laugh)
You can call me what you wish. But it doesn't change what's true. Are you that complacent with receiving orders from a foreigner? Someone with no claim to the throne of this kingdom, but to another?
The guards start looking at one another among the heap. Some seem to consider what Elias is saying and others are standing by their captain.
Elias
In order to do this though, depose this false king, I need help. Your help, comrades. With you, I can catch that bastard and send him to where he belongs. Hell.
Guard 1
(From crowd)
Maybe he's right...
Hearing his men consider disobedience, h Heartfelt lashes out.
Captain Heartfelt
(Rage)
Enough with this treachery!
He turns to his men standing behind him.
Captain Heartfelt
(Rage)
If any of you want to join him, then go ahead! Those that remain loyal will strike you down!
Elias
(Loud)
Shut your damn mouth! You're the traitor, here! What happened to a captain of the royal guard standing to defend the royal family?! Instead, you stand to defend their usurper!
Heartfelt turns to Elias in anger.
Captain Heartfelt
Fine! If you feel that way, then come at me! I will smite you where you-!
Before he can finish what he's saying, a guard from behind stabs him in the back, the sword coming out of his chest.
He falls as the sword is pulled from him and a female soldier was the one who killed him. Sheena, royal knight and daughter of the now dead royal advisor. With her black hair that is cut short and cold gaze, she looks at Elias.
This one act is enough to make all hell break loose with the guards loyal to Heartfelt and those in support of Elias' cause beginning to fight. And amidst it, Sheena leads the charge.
Sheena
You said you wanted to catch that guy, right?! Then go ahead! We'll hold them off!
She tells him this as she blocks a sword attack and counters, cutting her foe down.
Elias
Thank you!
Elias and his guard follower run around the fight and take a turn down the path where Haden had gone.
Camera cuts as it shows them running down the corridor from behind. It leads to a door at the end which ascends a central tower.
