TW [just the flashback italics]The clock seemed to tick louder with every second his vision got worse, the pens clicking, the heel clicks of his teachers shoes; Jaemin could always tell his other senses heightened as time went by, but he would've rather it had stayed all equal. Before he began to lose his eyesight, he really didn't mind being at school at all; he had friends, and he enjoyed to learn. But lately, everyone and everything seemed to be slipping further and further away from him.
He felt lost, and he ended up growing more and more distracted in every class of his. It wasn't entirely his fault, for what was he to do when he couldn't see anything the teacher was writing on the board? No teachers ever bothered to fully help him; they would ask him simple questions like any other student, but would never actually take the steps in helping a newly blind student.
Every school day seemed to go by slower and slower, as he dreaded listening to any further words, and just desired to go home and snuggle into his mothers arms; who had recently been the only person to even care for him anymore. Voices flowed in and out both ears, as he rest his face in his hands, until the bell from above the student had rung, signalling the end of class.
The students around Jaemin had immediately got up to gather their supplies from their desks, shoes squeaking against the glossy floors. Jaemin sighed, resting a hand onto his cane to push himself up from his desk as he grabbed his own books, before stepping forward slowly and getting himself out the door. His friends would gladly offer to help him, but they were in classes opposite from him, as they were able to progress at a normal speed; so he was stuck with the kids who thought of school as a joke, and who also thought he was a joke.
He made his way out the door, following his familiar footsteps to his locker to grab books for his next class. It was a little difficult to walk through the crowded halls, as he just had to hope no one would be rude enough to bump into a blind guy. Usually it was pretty decent, as no one really bumped into non-blind people either in the school, but today just seemed to be a different story.
Jaemin had bullies, there was a group of boys who always had it out for him, just because he was different. It was always just verbal though, with maybe a little shove here and there; so Jaemin didn't really pay no mind to it, for they were just words anyways. But today, when he was tripped and face planted on the floor, his books flying everywhere as a couple laughs were heard; it seemed a little different.
A boy was heard from above him, as Jaemin groaned and planted his hands on the floor to try and lift himself up.
"What's the matter, freak? Can't see where you're going?"The boy on the floor frowned, not knowing how to even answer. He quickly tried to push himself back up to his feet, only to be kicked down again, a yelp falling past his lips. The boy above him laughed again.
"So retarted you can't even get up yourself."Jaemin felt tears spring to his eyes from the kick and the words, trying to sit up again.
"Just leave me alone, please."A hand grabbed at his shirt, pulling him off the ground and dragging him somewhere. Jaemin yelled out, planting his heels into the ground as to stop him. He wondered if anyone around them was even paying attention, but as the bell sounded and the halls grew quiet besides the snickers of these boys, he knew he was helpless.
"Let me go!"He stumbled over his own feet, nervous he would bump into something or fall, but the hands on his body held him upright, dragging him. He was shoved onto the floor once again, a door sounding behind them, and he whimpered from the cold tile scraping against his palms.
