Night To Remember

Jaemin can remember every harsh word that was spoken to him when he was still in school. Every poke and prod, every shove and push; it's the main reason he left to stay at home all the time. He was a pretty strong boy, and he seemed confident in most things he did, but deep down he was so insecure, and so very sad.

There was a certain group of kids at school that seemed to make it their everyday mission to bully him, Jaemin finding it hard to even sleep at night knowing he would have to face them once again the next day. They would hide his school supplies so he wouldn't be able to find them, drag his chair from beneath him so he would fall in his ass in front of everyone. The thing that bothered him the most was how the teachers would watch, and not do anything but continue the lesson after shushing them all a bit.

Jaemin would face everyday with the same or more agonizing words thrown at him, and he could honestly face it until he started getting shoved into lockers or tripped in the hallways. He wasn't entirely sure why he was getting picked on for something he couldn't control, because if it was up to him, he definitely would not be blind. He was just as upset as they were over the fact, if not more, and he bullied himself over the fact as well.

Today, when that guy had shoved him and called him names, it was really hard for Jaemin to not break down. He tried his best to hold in his cries until he heard the crunching noises of punches being thrown by and to the one boy he cared about the most right now. It had been exactly something he hadn't wanted.

Having a crush on someone wasn't hard for Jaemin, but it was the fact that Jeno liked him back and was so utterly perfect and kind to him that made it difficult. He cared for Jeno far too much now, and he wanted nothing but the best for him; and he, himself, felt far from the best for the boy. Jaemin had already tried to push Jeno away, but Jeno always came back, not letting the boy get away from him.

He was angry at Jeno for getting into a fight over him, he was angry Jeno was hurt over him, he was angry that this grown man had pushed him and called him names, he was angry that he couldn't help, but he was overly angry that he was still blind and would never get his sight back.

The car ride was quiet, low music playing from the stereo but not loud enough for them to really even tell what was playing. Jeno was faced forward the whole time, hands gripping the steering wheel as he just focused on getting them to their destination. Jaemin was turned towards the window, his arms crossed as he tried to keep his tears held back, not wanting Jeno to see him cry anymore.

They were now in the countryside, the only hotel like place they were able to stay at was a large log cabin in the middle of the woods. It was safe to say it kind of creeped Jeno out, but at the same time it looked kind of cozy. He had carried all their bags once again, silently walking to Jaemin's side of the car who already had the door opened and was getting out himself. Jeno hopped a bit with all the bags in his arms, making sure he was by Jaemin's side to walk him into the building.

Jaemin didn't reach for the boy, and Jeno pursed his lips a bit as he brushed an arm forward.
"Hold onto me."

The pink haired boy blinked a bit, hesitating but reaching out to grab onto Jeno's arm slightly. He hadn't done his usual wrap around and linked their arms together, but rather just lightly gripped onto Jeno's forearm. Jeno frowned a bit, but ignored it and made sure his car was locked before guiding both of them into the front doors.

There were frogs croaking from a nearby stream, a few crickets as well. It was quiet and a little eerie, but it also had a sense of comfort to it, Jeno was just a bit of a scaredy cat sometimes. He made sure to walk steadily so Jaemin wouldn't trip on any of the jagged rocks, and he opened the doors for the boy.
"The cabin is made of logs, it looks pretty old to be honest. There's like a bench on the front porch, kind of cute, the doors are pretty modern though. I can see a woman at the front desk, she's an older woman."
