-A.... date...-

The thought alone was enough to get him worked up all over again.

He couldn't help but gently run his fingers over his lips, the sensation slowly fading by each passing second. His body still tingled where she kissed him and where she had touched him.

The smile on his face was big as could be, as he leaned on his desk. He was just... overwhelmed.

He ran his fingers through his hair, as he tried to clear his head. He would process what just happened all right, but for now he just needed to... breathe.

By the end of his shift, John was a lot calmer, though sometimes, the image of her flashed in his mind and his heart fluttered.

As he waited for the elevator to open, he took a deep breath, in attempt to calm. A quiet ding sounded and the doors opened. John lifted his gaze, before he stepped inside, only to see Daria and a few of her colleagues chatting inside.

She looked up to check who's getting on, the smile on her face slightly faltering, her heart skipping a beat.

She was wearing a light jacket and had a messenger bag hanging at her side.

-So she's going home too...-

-Of course, she is, dumbass-

After a moment she turned back to her friends, trying to act as if she doesn't know him.

He awkwardly stepped in, before turning his back to them, looking at the elevator doors.

-Don’t. Say. A. Word.-

Seeing her there caught him off-guard, and he quickly looked away, trying to focus on not having a complete meltdown in front of her co-workers. His mind rushed with a million different thoughts, all of them telling him to go talk to her, but he couldn't risk ruining the moment they had earlier. He did his best to stand still, and remain as invisible as possible.

When the elevator arrived on the first floor, John was quick to walk out and rush to his car. Daria had a small sad smile on her face, as she waved her colleagues goodbye, starting to regret her decision. While she was walking through the parking lot, she heard something.

Johnathon was sitting down in his car, still in a daze and not expecting anyone to approach him. He could hear someone walking by, but he couldn’t find the effort to turn around and look. He was thinking of her, what just happened, if it was a dream, if he was delusional and had lost his mind, anything.

-I’m probably insane....-

He could feel himself starting to get overwhelmed again, as he choked back a cry.

-No, no no no no-

The thoughts were overwhelming him, making him feel like he was going mad. His shoulders started trembling, as he started to silently cry, his grip tightening around the steering wheel. He was completely at his wit's end now, not even knowing how to process his own feelings.

His thoughts spiraled, he thought about her, why the hell did he react this way, was it because he had been alone for so long, why was this happening now? Everything was too much for him right now, and his head was splitting.

-Is that... crying-

Daria was almost sure that whatever she was hearing was someone having a mental breakdown. She looked around, untill she stopped behind a car, from which came the distinctive sound of weeping.

-Is this...-

-Shit-

He kept trying hard to hold back, but he was slowly losing the battle. His head was reeling, while his breathing became even more labored. It felt almost painful to even keep it in. He felt every single thought and emotion boiling inside him, and he was just about ready to explode.
