Note: The TTPD set of the Eras Tour was absolutely fucking insane. Praying I get tickets to the second leg of the U.S. tour! Anyways, enjoy this part :)
December 2023
Taylor had been staying in Kansas for over a week now, and it was the most uninterrupted time that he had gotten with her since they started dating. Since the football season started, they had been surrounded by his family or friends. But tonight, he and Taylor found themselves completely alone. When he asked what she wanted to do that evening, planning to capitalize on the rare alone time he got with her, he didn't expect that they would end up laying in bed, watching a shitty reality TV show.
"I hate this stuff." He grumbled, mostly under his breath, but Taylor caught it anyway.
"Get over it, it's funny. Besides, didn't you have your own show, Mr. Kelce?" She sat up, giving him a coy smirk.
He groaned and looked up at the ceiling as Taylor giggled beside him, "Don't bring that up. That's why I hate reality TV."
"I thought Catching Kelce was peak entertainment." She bopped his nose as she said it, grinning in that cute way she only does when teasing him.
He grabs her hand, kissing every single fingertip, just to hear her laugh again, and says, "I still can't believe you watched that."
She rolled her eyes good-naturedly and leaned back down to lay on his chest. "Well, I had to scope you out!"
"There were so many other ways to do that." He started to tickle her sides, and she squirmed to get away from him.
Soon enough, he had her pinned, and she was laughing so uncontrollably that her entire face had gone tomato red. He stopped, pressed a kiss onto her lips, before he laid back beside her as she caught her breath.
Her attention was fully back on the television show after a few minutes, and they slipped into a very comfortable silence before Taylor blurted, "That's just so tacky."
He hadn't heard Taylor be so blunt before, and it made him laugh more than he expected. He knew she was referring to the wedding happening in the show. He wouldn't say he disagreed with her statement, but decided to egg her on a bit. "What's tacky about it?"
She scoffed, as if she couldn't believe he couldn't see it with his own two eyes, and pointed at the screen. "Look at the colors, they don't match."
He studied the television for a moment before saying, "Yeah, they don't."
They watched in silence for a few more minutes before Travis spoke, tentatively. "What do you think your wedding colors would be?"
She seemed surprised, but smiled and answered anyway. "I always thought blue or green, but I also like the idea of having many colors."
His face screwed up in confusion, and he had to ask, "Like a rainbow?"
"No! Like having a color palette, a cohesive one." She almost looked offended that he would even suggest she have a rainbow themed wedding, and he was reminded of just how unintentionally funny she was.
He paused for a moment, looking at Taylor aglow in the dim light of the television, and his brain shot out his next question before he could process what he was saying "What kind of dress would you get?"
She looked at him seriously, and answered, "A big poofy one, with a tulle skirt and lots of sparkles."
He caught a gleam of mischief in her eye."You're fucking with me?"
She nodded with a grin. "I am. I'd probably go for something more classy and timeless. Like satin or silk, sort of simple, honestly. I never wanted an elaborate wedding. I just want a simple day to celebrate with everybody that I love."
He nods, trying to stow away the image of her in a wedding dress that had quickly overtaken his brain. "That sounds nice."
She turned away from the television, laying on her side so she could look directly at him. "Have you given thought to what you'd want your wedding to look like?" Her hand was tracing patterns over his chest, and he could feel his heart speed up both at her question and her touch.
"Not really to be honest." He didn't tell her that he didn't imagine what his wedding would look like at all until he met her.
"Come on, humor me. What would your dream wedding be like?" She was looking at him, her eyes so bright.
He knew Taylor appreciated his honesty, so he decided to tell her exactly what was on his mind. "I think whatever you have cooked up in your head is perfect enough for me."
Her hand on his chest stalled for a moment, before she continued her nonsensical patterns. "Oh." Her face was flushed at the implication that his wedding would also be her own, and he could see that she was fighting a smile from the way the corners of her mouth slightly upturned. "I'm happy you feel that way, because I already have most of it planned."
He started to tease her, just as she had done to him earlier. "So, I don't get a say?"
"You would if you had any ideas."
"I'll think of some. We have time." He pulled her tighter to his chest, holding her until finally she dozed off. He could see her eyes dancing behind closed lids and wondered what she was dreaming about. He turned off the television, falling asleep to visions of Taylor in a white dress, walking down a flower covered aisle.
He woke before her the next morning, his sleep interrupted by the alarm that signaled an early practice day. He quickly turned the noise off to not wake Taylor, who was still pressed to his side. He slid out of bed, trying not to jostle her as he did, and got ready for his day.
Before leaving, he returned to the bedroom. Taylor was still sleeping soundly, and he leaned down to press his lips gently to her forehead. She woke for a brief moment, her eyes barely flickering open.
"Sorry for waking you baby, I was just about to head out."
She hummed, breaking through a cloud of sleep to respond to the small kiss he pressed against her lips, and whispered, "Have a good practice, I love you."
He stroked her cheek as her eyes slipped shut again. "I love you more, babygirl."
He couldn't stop the giddiness that overtook his body, looking at her, his future wife, in his bed.
