•Chapter 37

8 January

Minho's eyes were closed, his face pale and still. He laid in the hospital bed. Surrounding him were steady beeps and whirs of machines monitoring his vital signs.

Hours turned into days, and days turned into a week, yet Minho showed no signs of waking up. He had stopped needing the ventilator after his 5th day of being in the coma, and could finally breathe on his own. The doctors said it was uncertain when, or if, Minho would awaken from his coma. His friends, especially Chan, were certain that he would wake up soon.

Minho's parents had visited him during the past weekend, and stayed at his side the entire time. Unfortunately they had to leave for Gimpo by Sunday night.

All seven of his friends sat around him, quietly conversing with eachother.

"Can he not wake up? Like bro, it isn't that hard to wake up. I can sleep for hours but he's been sleeping for nearly 8 days. Lazy mother fucker." Hyunjin mumbled the last part.

"Hyunjin darling, you do realise he could possibly hear you? Some people can hear everything around them while they're in a coma." Seungmin rolled his eyes as he spoke.

"We won't want him to airfry you as soon as he wakes up." Chan softly joked, adding on to what Seungmin said.

Chan had a few bruises on his face and body. He wasn't as injured as Minho was and was discharged from the hospital 2 days after the accident.

Since then, Jeongin had been attached to his hip, following him everywhere.

"Wait so you're saying he could know that you're dating Jeongin?!" Hyunjin exclaimed a bit too loudly for Felix's liking, as a water bottle was thrown in his direction.

"Possibly." Chan chuckled as Hyunjin dodged the bottle, but another was thrown in his direction and hit him in his eye.

"Felix! Stop attacking me!" Hyunjin exclaimed louder this time, which led to five more water bottles being thrown at him, two by Felix, one by Jisung, one by Seungmin and another one by Jeongin.

"I'm being attacked! Chan please protect me! Wait no Changbin! You're a loyal one! Please protect me my favourite muscle boy!" Hyunjin ran to the opposite side of Minho's bed and ran to Changbin who had hid him behind him.

"I can always trust my short pizza fairy! He has fidelity unlike you all betrayers- AH" Hyunjin started saying before Changbin had thrown him directly into Felix's arms.

Felix had taken this opportunity to try to strangle him with his fluffy long scarf.

"Hey hey hey no attempting to kill eachother! We're in a hospital!" Chan started saying as Felix hadn't let go of Hyunjin.

"Exactly! If he needs oxygen I'll throw him to the nurses!" Felix said while Hyunjin screamed like he was being tortured.

"You're going to wake up sleeping beauty." Seungmin said, watching the chaos unleash.

Jisung chuckled while watching the peculiar event. He sat right next to Minho's bed and held his cold hand.

Suddenly, with a faint flutter of eyelashes, and a soft sigh, Minho's eyes had opened, gazing up at his friends with a confused expression. Gasps erupted from all around the hospital room. And Felix had let go of Hyunjin.

"MINHO!" Felix exclaimed and ran to the elders side.

"Uh..." Minho said in a confused tone.

"Darling give the boy some space. He just woke up after nearly eight days." Changbin had gone to Felix and pulled him away from the sleeping beauty.
