4. Friends

Karthik Pov

We got to our home my aunt family also came with us. She was taunting the bride's family a lot about their status, dowries and their house besin small also the area and all.

But my Appa know how to shut her mouth.

"Deepa, Aparna is making mushroom pulao. You must eat and go"

Oh hearing that she went inside the kitchen to see what my Amma doing.

I smiled at her childishness.

Soon after dinner is ready we all sat to have dinner by that time my cousins also came to our home.

They both were came to knew the news of my marriage. I know they are not happy with that by looking at their sulking faces.

I know about their feelings towards me. They are just now completed their school and doing college. I have seen them from diapers. I like them. I care for them. But that's not love. I know they also don't love me. It might be a crush on me or because of their mother's match making schemes.

You all must be thinking how came I knew about it.

One day I was working out in gym at my home. I saw them hiding behind the doors. I went to see what they were doing here. But then I overheard their conversation no scratch that arguing about whom I would marry.

On hearing that I was shocked at first then I started noticing their activities that's how I came to about my aunt who is also involved in it.

I like her and respect her as she was also my family. But for I can't marry my cousin who is still in college though elder one almost completed her ug course. I never saw them with that kind of feelings.

After we finished our dinner we retired to our rooms. My aunt and cousins also have their rooms in our house.

My father built this house even before we born.

He was always wants to stay close to her sister as she is the only close relative to us. Their house is just two streets away from here. Sometimes they do crash in our home.

When I got old enough they gave me the master bedroom which downstairs beside my room is my parents rooms. My aunt uncle and cousins rooms and guests were upstairs. Its a decent house but now I made some changes in my house after I started earning. Now it looked like spacious and cozy with its modern infrastuture and beautiful lawn in the front.

I slowly drifted into deep slumber.

At Karthik's office

Karthik was sitting in his cubicle and doing his work silently. Because he doesn't want to grabbing attention from unwanted persons.

"Hey Karthik" Arun said coming closer to me. Followed by "hey dude, what's up" Rohan fist bumped into my shoulder.

I greeted then back.

We talked about causua thing for couple of minutes.

Before we heard loud voice of Vijay. "Hello!! Three monkeys"

We three turned out heads to see him. Along with him Nimisha, Priya and Reena was also there.

This is my friends gang.

Me, Arun and Vijay were friends from our kindergarten.

Rohan and priya joined in our trio gang in our higher secondary. And they were childhood sweethearts.

We all 5 friends joined engineering in one of the top colleges of Tamilnadu.

There we met Nimisha and Reena through Priya become our friends. Nimisha and Reena were also friends from school.
