It had been a couple weeks since I was brought to Doctor Wolvesbane. When he gave me a further examination he found that my back leg had been pull and dislocated by the wolf so he had to forcefully put it back into place and let my werwolf healing take care of the rest while also applying a special gauze to help speed up the healing process.
In the time I had been hospitalized we had a thunderstorm and Doctor Wolvesbane told me that a bolt of lighting had struck somewhere in the forest. Another kid had come in to see Doctor Wolvesbane about a sprained ankle so I took that time to ask about Peter. It took me awhile to get the words out and the kid was a bit confused but eventually we got there.
He informed me that Peter Dawnwood was 'upset that he couldn't crush some guy up in sparring at the training area cause the guy was currently hospitalized,' and 'Was gonna give him a piece of his mind when he got out.'
I almost couldn't believe it, Peter was still upset about his jacket! "I'm dead...." I mumbled to myself.
"Pardon? Did I not do a good job patching you up?" Doctor Wolvesbane said beside me with a clipboard and pen in hand. He appeared so suddenly it made me jump.
"D-Doctor!"
"Yes?"
"Y-You're here!"
"Of course, I'm a doctor and this is my ward."
I felt silly after that, of course he would be here. "R-Right..."
"Anyway, I came to inform you that you're being discharged and can now return to your daily boring life." He handed me clipboard. "Just sign the papers and you can leave."
To be honest I didn't want to leave knowing that Peter was waiting for me out there. If I could just stay in here for the rest of my life that would be just fine by me. "U-Um.... are you sure? Maybe I can stay a little longer... I still feel awful."
"No. You're fine. Sign and leave."
Begrudgingly I signed the papers and handed them back to Doctor Wolvesbane. "Hey, Doctor..."
Doctor Wolvesbane was the only person to visit me and talk to me. I don't mean like a doctor would a regular patient. I mean really speak to me. He would bring me food he said he prepared himself and speak to me about things that happened. I want to thank him for taking care of me and paying attention to me.
But....
Would it be weird? Would he roll his eyes at me? He's a doctor his job is of course to take care of his patients, no matter how lonely and pathetic they are... Maybe it would be be better if I didn't...
"Um, n-never mind.." I said avoiding eye contact.
Doctor Wolvesbane cocked a brow in question but didn't say anything. He nodded and then turned his back to me. I left without a word.
Although I was dreading the inevitable conformation with Peter it felt nice to be walking around outside. The ground was wet and slippery from the thunderstorm so I nearly slipped over my feet a couple of times.
The Tribe's people were up and about going from daily duties to just getting off duties chatting so loudly I could pick up on a some conversations.
A pack a teens where relaxing by a tree snickering to each other about skipping their weekly tribe duties for today. All they needed to do was figure out a plan to pull one over their supervisor.
I will never understand why anyone would ever want to get into trouble on purpose...There was a group of wives walking around complaining about their spouses and whatnot. How they can't get to the work that they want to happen because their husband's are to busy endless it's their own work.
Not that I understand anything about that...
