Just this one time Regina decided to go with the flow when a random potato asked her out, and she ended up god knows where.

(Yes, it contains a tiny bit of smut again, sorry 😔 but it's also 5k words of plot)

Narrator's POV

"Hi Regina."

Regina looked up from her cheese fries to see Y/N standing there by her table. She tilted her head to one side. "Do I know you?" she asked in a sickeningly sweet voice.

The Y/E/C-eyed girl planted her hands on the table and pushed herself closer. "I'm Y/N."

Regina gave her a fake smile, shaking her head, still not getting the point of this.

"You sit next to me during English and we share like most of our classes, you can stop pretending like you don't know about my entire existence now," Y/N said. Although they weren't close at all, they had spoken to each other quite a lot during the years of sharing classes together. Regina had asked her for a handful of favours too regarding assignments and never seemed to have a problem with remembering her before, she was just being an ass right now. She almost rolled her eyes but held the urge.

The blonde, however, didn't try to hide her annoyance. "Okay, and? Why are you talking to me?" she asked, glancing down at her nails in boredom.

Y/N moved to slide down next to the empty spot next to the Queen B. Everyone was looking at her every move, all equally just as confused as why she would dare to just go up and sit by the Plastics like that. Regina turned to her and narrowed her eyes, the look on her face almost one of disgust. Gretchen made a move to tell the Y/E/C-eyed girl off but Regina gave her a sign that there was no need to. She was curious to see what this girl was up to too. Y/N glanced around her too, noticing all the eyes on her. She knew this was going to happen, that was why she did this in the middle of the cafeteria, she just didn't think it would actually be the entire fucking school's business. Her attention landed on Regina again and travelled up and down, before settling on the bored expression on the blonde's face. "Is that a new top? It looks really good on you. You look even better than normally," she commented.

"I know, but thanks," Regina replied simply. She stared at the girl, half-waiting for her to walk away but also secretly hoping more was going to come out of her mouth besides that tedious compliment.

The Y/E/C-eyed girl didn't seem that affected by Regina's coldness and smiled at her. "Are you free tonight?" she asked.

"Why?"

"Well, I'm taking you out for dinner," Y/N stated as a matter of fact.

Regina chuckled, shaking her head slightly. "Well, aren't you hilarious? I don't remember you asking me out nor me saying yes."

Y/N pushed herself up from her seat and just tapped on the table. "See you at 7, babe. I'll come pick you up," she confirmed with a wink. Going into this, she didn't have a proper plan. Just straight up going up to her and one-sidedly making and confirming the date definitely was not even close to her vague draft of a plan.

Regina noticed that she was just leaving like that and whipped her head to follow her. "I won't open the door, what the fuck!" she called out.

A lot of people had asked her out before. She was Regina fucking George, after all. But she had to say this was the most unique way she's encountered, and it was definitely close to the top as one of the ones that she hated the most. Yes, she knew Y/N. The girl just mostly kept to herself and her dumb boyfriend and never batted an eye at her. They were of the fewer people who truly didn't give a shit about her popularity. She really wondered how hard the Y/E/C-eyed girl had hit her head to suddenly publically ask her out and practically force her to go along with it.
