"Cancel plans just in case you'd call and say, 'Meet me behind the mall.'"

Narrator's POV

"Oooh, who are you texting?"

Y/N shielded her phone away from her curious friends, her cheeks flushed with shyness. "Just a classmate," she dismissed.

'Classmate' was basically the code word for Regina George, the whole friend group knew that. All her friends were extremely confused by their... relationship? Friendship? They've all known Y/N to be the quiet type, Regina was as opposite from her as it could get. They were so sure Y/N was joking when she told them she had befriended the Queen Bee of their school.

Very very deep down, they've also considered whether Y/N had gone so delusional that she's lost it. After all, it was summer, break has started, and they had never once actually seen Regina together with their friend until recently.

"You should invite your classmate to come."

"Yeah, I'm actually so curious what Regina's like outside of school. Ask her to join us!"

Y/N toyed with her phone in her hands. "I don't know... she's probably busy right now." Truth was, she was so nervous to ask Regina to hang out in general, let alone asking her to hang out with her friends. Suddenly, her phone buzzed with an incoming call. She almost dropped the device but managed to pick up the call. "Hello."

"Don't tell me you're actually offended I called you dumb." Her voice was sultry, almost sexy even, as she purred those words.

Y/N chuckled. "Are you saying you got nervous because I left you on delivered?" she teased. She didn't even have to see Regina's face to know the girl was rolling her eyes at her. And she also didn't need direct confirmation to know that she was right with her teasing.

"Bye."

"I was just distracted by my friends," Y/N explained before she could get hung up on.

"Look who's nervous now," Regina tsked before chuckling. "Anyway, I'm headed towards the mall right now. You can join if you want."

"Sure," Y/N replied as casually as she could. She glanced over at her friends and saw all of them already smirking and winking at her, clearly having eavesdropped on the conversation. She stuck her middle finger at them and turned around to ignore their teasing.

"Alright, see you in a bit, loser."

Before she met Regina, she would've never guessed someone calling her a loser would make her feel this way. The second Y/N removed her phone from her ear, she was already met with some more teasing, "Dude, you're so down bad for her." "Who's got you smiling like that, hmm?" which was subsequently followed by reassurance from her friends that it was okay for her to ditch their hangout. They didn't have to tell her twice, she practically sprinted to the mall.

The thing with the mall was, it wasn't big, but it certainly wasn't small either.

[2:12 PM] Y/N: Where are you?

[2:13 PM] Regina: behind u

Y/N whipped around.

Regina watched as the Y/E/C-eyed girl spun around, looking utterly lost. She chuckled. This idiot.

[2:13 PM] Y/N: You dirty little liar wtf

[2:13 PM] Regina: omg u are so blind

[2:14 PM] Regina: don't look up

Y/N tilted her head up and saw a blonde standing a few feet away from her. Squinting her eyes, she tried to make out if that blurry blot was Regina. It... kinda looked like her. She closed the distance between them. Regina stood there with an amused smile and tilted her head to one side. Once Y/N was close enough, she playfully shielded her face with her hands.
