POV: Naruto Uzumaki

I got out of my shower and the cold air hit me. I shivered and pulled a towel around my waist. I walked into my bedroom and pulled out a white t-shirt and black cardigan pants. I put them on and dried my hair.

As I sat down on my bed, I heard a knock at my door. I sighed and got up.

I opened the door and saw Sakura and Sai.

"Hello Naruto." Sai said in his monotone voice.

"Hey Naruto!" Sakura smiled.

"Hey guys. What's up?"

"Kakashi said we have a mission so get ready." Sakura said lightly. I nodded.

After fifteen minutes I was ready to go. We left for our mission.

"So fill me in. What are we doing?" I said as we ran through the forest.

"Nothing too chaotic. We're helping a woman build three different bridges. One for each of us." Sakura said from behind me. I nodded.

"What's the time span?"

"We got about two weeks. The ridges are wide, so just the form is going to take a long time to build."

I nodded. We ran for about three hours and we finally got there.

"Oh! You three must be whoever they assigned to me!" A short, chubby woman with silky black hair and pale skin smiled.

"Yes. You are Ms. Maili?" I smiled back.

"That's me! Well then. We better get to it. I want you to go off over a mile down that way!" She pointed at me. "You go off half a mile down that way!" She pointed to Sakura. "And finally you stay here with me!" She said to Sai.

Soon I was off working on a bridge.

Hours later the sun was falling and it was time to stop. I set up camp nearby and climbed a tree to look at the stars.

The wind blew into my face as I stared. The trees around me reminded me of when I first learned how to climb on the trunk with chakra control. With... Him. I shook my head. Stop. He's not that person anymore. I sighed as I stared at the sky intently.

I then felt a chill. But it wasn't the wind. I looked around me and saw a Hawk. It was staring at me. I stood up and took out a shuriken, aiming it. I threw it quickly and hit its wing at a perfect angle to hurt it just enough to look at it. It fell and then I heard a thump.

I ran to get a look at it and saw the Hawk on the ground moving slightly. I crouched down and looked at it for any sign of ownership. But there wasn't anything. I sighed at myself for being paranoid and healed the Hawks injury. Sakura had taught me just in case.

I let it go and stood up and stared as it flew away. I stayed like this for a few minutes and finally sighed as I looked down.

I then felt someone touch the back of my neck, then grasping it before I could react. Then the person grabbed my arms and pinned them to my back, dropping me onto the ground, their knees on either side of me.

I remained calm but I was on the verge of shouting. I couldn't move, which was odd. No one had ever to pin me down long enough... Until now.

"You think you can harm my bird and just let it go without a worry?" I heard a deep voice hiss. "Well, think again." He then growled. While he was talking I examined the pressure he had on me and finally had enough pressure built up to push him off.

I did so and landed on my feet lightly, while the guy landed on his back, clearly not expecting it.

I pulled a shuriken and aimed at him, when the moonlight hit his face. It looked familiar. Was it-

"Naruto?" The voice said. Sasuke...

I scowled. "Leave." I growled.

"Leave?" He scoffed. "Weren't you the one looking for me? Isn't that why you're here?" He smirked.

"Don't get full of yourself, Sasuke. I'm here on a simple mission. Not that it's any of your business." I hissed.

"Ah yes. A mission. You can't do even a simple mission." He snarked. "I bet you're still as useless as back then."

Rage boiled in me but I calmed it down. "Leave Sasuke. You're not welcome in Kohna anymore." I drew a deep breath and exhaled.

He walked closer to me. I became rigid. "How's Sakura? Miserable I assume? Depressed? Not that I care." He smirked again.

"Don't you say her name. She's happier now that you are gone. We all are and we've all forgotten you. So go hide in that little snake hole, from where you came." I hissed. "And never come back."

He got close enough to me and gripped my throat. "But you haven't." He growled. "You recognized me instantly. You still care." He pulled me close enough so he could whisper into my ear. I couldn't move. His touch made me dizzy.

"No." I barely whispered.

"Yes." He whispered harshly. His lip touched my ear. "You do." He dragged his tongue down my throat, kissing it slightly.

"W-What are you doing!" I pushed him away and threw my shuriken at his head. It scratched his cheek lightly. He wiped the blood away and looked at me with a smirk.

"I'll see you soon again, Naruto." He smiled a light, smug smile and left.

I stood in shock.

What just happened...
