When I woke up, Qin Tingying had long disappeared. I got dressed and went downstairs to find him.

He was sitting at the table by the window, having breakfast. He looked like he hadn't slept well, and his usually beautiful peach blossom eyes were bloodshot. Alas, why bother? If you covered me up last night, wouldn't you be able to sleep until dawn?

I sighed inwardly and sat down. When he saw me coming, he took the initiative to push the steamed cakes on the table to me.

"Thank you." I took one and thanked him. I also lost my temper towards him.

"You're welcome, I'll wait for you to call me Brother." The corners of his mouth curled up into a slight smile.

"Why?" I deliberately pretended to be stupid.

"Last night..." He suddenly came close to me and put his thin lips close to my ears.

"Last night?" I looked innocent, but I couldn't help but expect in my heart, Mr. Qin, what do you want to say?

"You kicked me out of bed last night. Does that count as crossing the line?" Qin Tingying whispered in my ear.

"But I obviously slept on the outside." I defended. Did he think I was asleep? We are all adults, why not tell the truth?

"You kept squeezing in, and I had no place to sleep, so I went to the outside." Qin Tingying chuckled, "Xu Shiyi, do you want to break your promise?"

He was too close to me, and I was a little attracted by his laughter. Itchy. But in the clear day, he won't do anything to me. I put away my charming thoughts, moved to the side, and then said: "Master Qin, where is the evidence? Words are unfounded, seeing is believing."

"Oh, it's a secret, I'll spare you this time." Qin Tingying shook his head regretfully.

After eating, we continued on our way. However, when we arrived at the next inn, Qin Tingying gave me the Tianzihao room and went to sleep in the rather simple Hezihao room. I'm not a snake or a scorpion, so why bother? It doesn't matter, the journey is still long and I will always find opportunities.

When I was approaching Jiangbei County, Qin Tingying didn't take me to the inn, but to a hotel. I understand what he means. He wants to go to Jiangbei to investigate the situation first. After all, there are always some people who will deceive others.

We changed into regular clothes in the hotel and walked to Jiangbei County. Fortunately, the road was not flooded and we had an easy walk.

It was midsummer and noon. The sun was so bright that we had to rest under a tree.

I took off the water bag from my waist and took a sip. I don't know when I can reach Jiangbei County, so it's better to save some drinks.

Qin Tingying looked at me drinking water, and the desire in his peach blossom eyes almost overflowed. I saw him staring at me, so I handed him the water bag.

He waved his hand and pointed at his waist, indicating that he had it too. Then look what I do? I find it baffling.

He suddenly stood up, reached out and picked a pale pink crape myrtle on the tree and brought it to me. He said with a smile: "Xu Shiyi, you are more delicate than flowers. This flower has lost some of its color in front of you."

"Master Qin, there is no need to belittle yourself. " "You are more beautiful than Pan An, and you are as beautiful as Song Yu. What girl in the capital doesn't admire you?" I shot back. In fact, I really want to say, Mr. Qin, do you know that "if there are flowers that can be broken, they must be broken, but don't wait until there are no flowers to break branches"? When will you break my flower?

We fought all the way and finally arrived at Jiangbei County before dark. Although Jiangbei County reported the flood to the capital, the county was in order and there was no mess at all. In the city, there are several points where people give out charity porridge, and neatly dressed people line up, making it a peaceful scene. Is it because of the good governance of the county governor or because of his face-saving skills? I glanced at Qin Tingying, and he understood what I meant. He whispered: "Follow me."

I followed him to the north of the city, which looked very different from the scene we saw when we first entered the city gate. Squatting in the corner were refugees in ragged clothes. Their expressions were numb and they did not react when strangers came.

Qin Tingying looked for the woman holding the child, quietly stuffed a steamed cake to her, and then asked: "Auntie, my brother and I are here to see my little sister, can you tell me the people in Zhaojia Village? Where is it?"

Qin Tingying gave her food, and she was good-looking. After hiding the steamed cake, the woman said, "I don't know, I fled here from Liujiazhuang."

"I saw in the city. Have you ever been to a shop that gives out charity porridge?" Qin Tingying asked again.

"I didn't go," the woman shook her head. She looked around again and whispered, "I went to get the porridge and asked for a paper plate."

"Thank you, auntie." Qin Tingying stood up and thanked her.

We walked around here and asked a few more people before leaving.

"How did you know that the person was in the north of the city?" I was a little surprised that Qin Tingying was able to find him accurately.

"Look at the people coming and going on this road, but no one is going north." Qin Tingying showed me the roads in the city. I took a closer look, and it was indeed the case.

"What do you think the county guard will say when he sees us?" I asked.

"Probably not telling the truth." There was a hint of anger in his tone.

"Then it's broken, it's no big deal." I raised my hand and put it on his shoulder, comforting him.
