"Welcome to the finals of our KIDZ+ competition! Where today, one lucky winner will be announced as our brand new KIDZ+ weather girl!" TV Host Alec announced as the camera closed up to both Mireille and Aurore. Both of them either waved or giggled in front of the camera. The crowd chanted both of the girls' names.
"We started off with 5000 contestants. But with the help of our audience at home, we whittled our talent down to just these two amazing young ladies! So, let's welcome our fantastic finalists! To my right, Aurore Beauréal, and to my left, Mireille Caquet! Who will be the lucky winner? Vote now! Text 1 for Aurore and 2 for Mireille. And remember, standard text messaging rates apply."
Caspian POV
I looked through a blog made by Isabella Cimarosa and sighed at what I just saw while Kraw perched on my shoulder.
"Since I am new to Paris, I am already familiar with Camazotz, the leader. She has a great name ,a sense of style and has a no nonsense attitude, but has no problem being playful. Her name is Kʼiche for 'Death Bat', since Bats are often symbols of death in the West. In this case, she's the representation of Rebirth. She reminds me of Batwoman."
"Makes sense." I commented as I scrolled down.
"Sparrow is one of Camazotz's partners. While his name and suit are very basic, it suits him as it represents an actual sparrow, who are symbols of hope and good luck. Not to mention, sparrows are very eye catching birds, next to woodpeckers. He's a go getter and doesn't back down, even if he has a bit of a temper and a high level of snark. Due to the use of his trademark bow and arrows, he's basically Hawkeye."
"For a moment, I thought she'd call you a bootleg Robin Hood." Kraw teased.
I scoffed and scrolled down.
"Cat Noir is another of Camazotz's mewist partners. Not only does he make cat puns, but he is listed as the flirty jokester in my book. Nice choice of name as well even though it is just Black Cat in French. The only critiques I really have for him are his affections towards Ladybug and his costume. He looks like a Thrift Store Catwoman."
I chuckled at that and continued on.
"Ladybug is another partner of Night Robin. She seems to be the serious one and tends to make jokes as well, but they aren't as funny as Chat Noir's. Her choice of name is awful. Just Ladybug? Really? Find something creative. Her sense of style is so basic. She literally wears her hair in pigtails and wears a pajama onesie that you can buy at the dollar store. Is she trying to be Spider-Man? She's just a Spider-Man Wannabe."
"Damn. I just hope Marinette doesn't blow a fuse." I said.
"Is your friend a fan of Ladybug?" Kraw asked me.
"Considering how she snapped at Isabella when she stated her distrust in the heroes, I'd say she is." I shrugged.
I scrolled down and saw a video of KIDZ+, presenting the new weather girl.
"This is the moment we've been waiting for! The viewers at home have made their decision, and the new KIDZ+ weather girl is...Mireille!" The TV host announced.
While Mireille was cheering and thanking her fans, Aurore was livid, but kept it to herself.
"Man, she really crushed you, eh? Better luck next time." Alec teased, much to Aurore's chagrin as she stormed off.
"Damn. I feel bad for her." I said.
"Yeah. The host is a jerk." Kraw replied.
I checked the time and saw that it was time for me to go and see Marinette.
