Caspian POV
I heaved a heavy sigh as Ms Bustier drones on.
Today is Valentine's Day and love is in the air for most others. For me, and those who are still looking for love, it's a pain to see other couples while longing for their special someone. I wasn't too fond of Valentine's Day because I never got one.
Not that I was expecting one anyway.
"Here's a question for you. Why do you think in most fairy tales the prince breaks the spell by kissing the spell?" Ms Bustier asked until Rose raised her hand.
"Rose?"
"Because only love can conquer hate!" Rose swoons.
Yeah. Stereotypical stuff. I thought.
"Correct, Rose." Our teacher replied.
Max stood up from his seat. "Technically speaking, this reasoning is only exhibited in about 87% of all fairy tales and-."
"We get it, Brainstorm!" Andrew called, earning a scowl from Max as he sat down.
Marinette tried to peek over Isabella to see what Adrien was writing, "Adrien, I hope what you're writing has to do with my lesson." she walks over to him.
Marinette gasped as I raised an eyebrow.
"Can you tell me what I just said?"
"That's why in most fairy tales, the prince breaks the spell by kissing the princess because only love conquers hate." Adrien recites as the bell rings, signalling the end of class as Marinette sighs in relief, smiling weirdly.
I resisted the urge to gag in disgust.
"Very good, Adrien! Now, everyone, don't forget to finish Sleeping Beauty by Charles Perrault tonight, and happy Valentine's day, students!" the teacher leaves the classroom.
As we were about to leave, I looked to see Marinette digging her hand in the bin.
"Are you serious?" I groaned.
Chloe smirks mockingly, spooking the bluenette, who turns around nervously and hides the paper behind her back, "Well, well, Marinette, looking for something to eat?"
"Maybe she's looking for some better clothes!" Sabrina guesses as the two girls laugh while Isabella looked disgusted at Marinette's actions.
"Get lost, you three." I sighed.
"Fine. I don't know how you managed to get second place in the competition, Caspian. Seeing you have no style." Chloe sneered.
I scoffed. "Look who's talking, Bourgeois. White leggings and a yellow cardigan? Update your wardrobe."
Chloe scoffed and left with Sabrina and Isabella.
"Thanks, Caspian." Marinette smiled.
"Seriously, Marinette. We need to talk about your crush on Adrien. Digging through the trash to find the paper he threw away. A little much if ask me."
Marinette looked clueless. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
I shrugged. "Whatever."
I went to my locker to see Melissa slipping something inside.
"Melissa?" She got startled and almost threw a punch at me until I blocked it. "Easy. It's just me."
"Caspian? Sorry. I didn't hurt you or anything?" Melissa asked.
"No. I'm ok." I replied.
The dark brunette sighed with relief. "That's good. Anyway, gotta go."
As she walked away, I opened my locker to find a pink envelope. I opened it and saw a poem.
