Summary:

"Is this right?" Sapnap asked, and Dream knew the answer.

"Probably not." Their lips met again to continue their dance.

or Dream and Sapnap face the repercussions of having sex without talking

part two!! it has a bit of a different vibe than part one, but please read ignite me beforehand because it picks up where that one left off

For the entire next week, Dream barely left his room.

Sapnap would continuously knock, offering food and company, but Dream couldn't bring himself to answer. He would only go downstairs to retrieve ramen or chips, then retreat back to his safe place. He didn't stream all week, which wasn't entirely abnormal. He wanted to, but the thought of having to talk to Sapnap was making everything to do with work almost impossible.

Dream's hair was an absolute mess. It stuck up in strange places, and he desperately needed it cut. However, he didn't want to go. Something in his head made him hope that Sapnap would end up pulling on it like he did that night. Maybe his mouth would be just as full, and maybe he would like it.

Sapnap streamed during the week, and Dream watched the whole thing. George joined VC, and so did Punz and BadBoyHalo, and everyone wondered where Dream was. Sapnap checked his viewership and saw that Dream was watching, but said nothing. He messaged Dream, a simple frowny face, but Dream left the message on read. He couldn't bear to reply.

Finally, the weekend hit, and Dream decided that something had to change. Dodging his best friend was becoming more and more annoying. He could fend the messages from Bad with a simple "I'm fine," but Sapnap's persistent knocking and leaving meals outside his door wouldn't stop.

Dream pushed open his door and stalked down the stairs, carefully avoiding the creaky steps. Sapnap was nestled into the couch with Patches by his side. Some random action movie filled with fire and gunshots was playing, but the TV was on mute. Sapnap scrolled through his phone and lightly scratched Patches' head. The sight was pure comfort.

Dream missed the feeling of Sapnap's arms encasing him. He missed the tickling, the teasing, and the muted movies casting orange light on Sapnap's face. All of the sequels of The Matrix reminded him of Sapnap's hands.

"Dream?" Sapnap looked terrified. His eyes were blown wide, and his hand stilled on Patches' head.

"Sapnap." Dream's voice shook with each syllable. He stepped farther into the room and noticed that the lights were dimmed. A slight orange glow illuminated Sapnap's features in the way that he missed so much.

"What happened?" Sapnap's voice hung heavy in the silence.

"I felt depressed, I think," Dream admitted. Something changed in Sapnap's expression. He was so scared, so afraid to accept their new normal. Now, he was cautious. Every little movement felt critical. One misstep and Dream would run off to his room again and disappear. Neither of them wanted that.

"Do you wanna talk about it?"

"No," Dream paused. He picked at a stray hangnail. "I don't think I do."

"Wanna watch a movie?"

"Yeah." Dream rounded the couch and sat a cushion away. His back never slouched against the leather though. His legs were crossed, and the one on top was bouncing.

One of Sapnap's hands extended, declaring what Dream could only assume was a peace offering. He gently laid his hand on top, and Sapnap flipped so their fingers interlaced. It almost felt too intimate, too close given their circumstances.
