the prince didn't save the princess at all 🌷

if all he did was save her
then the word 'save' had a different meaning to her
she was cuff-linked in silence, in a patient wait,
buttoned with bliss in her father's kingdom
poetry breathed in and out of her
she drowned in her seething sea of lies from time to time
first-hand photographic memories swirling in her mind
with childhood love, locked away within the depths of herself
whirlpool of uncertainties
made her life erratic
all the lipstick-stained love letters amongst the folded layers of her torn gowns, hidden at the end of her cupboard
on the island of healing, sitting alone in despair
sun-streaked serenades and singing sunsets being her only companions
the glistening stillness of her tears were the tethered to the lunar roses
the syllables of romance was dormant in her life
derelict dreams never getting an entry
until

he came
returned
just for her

and it was like silver ribbons wrapped around her golden dreams (silver was her favourite colour.)
healing the poetic scars on her wrists
the cupid 💘 was missing all these days, even he was back from his vacation
it was like leap year love, so close yet so far
her musical melancholy got drowned in the rhythm of his lips
and sent them both to the point of no return
she became his valentine victim without a second thought
if he knew her heart,
breathing vapours of sorrow
he would have come sooner
but he kissed her tears away in exchange of his mistakes
giving her the fairytalehappyending she had been waiting for

a love that consumed her

a love that consumed her
